CandyKid
Welcome to the forums, nodachi! Mainboards based on the VIA P4X400 chipset do not support registered/buffered memory modules. The "R" of the TwinX2048RE-3200 stands for registered and thus this set would not run on your system. I cannot reccommend any modules to add in with your current module except another of the exact same model and revision as mixing/matching modules is never advisable. However, if you would like to provide the make and model of your mainboard (the lines are blank on your list, just a heading) I can suggest compatible modules! nodachi
thanks for the headsup candykid for some reason i copied and pasted the R in the model number ^^;; the model i wanted to buy is unbuffered twinx2048-3200 this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145486 so if its unbuffered it should work right? i have no idea what the model make stuff you were asking for so i took screenies of cpuz http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/nodachi_/cpuzPC.jpg thanks for the help man:D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 2, 2005 We do not recommend mixing and matching any modules together as it can cause many problems. My suggestion would be to add only what you currently have in your system to the exact part number or remove your CMX512-2700C2 module and to add new RAM throughout your machine. Sorry about that. nodachi
i have another question if you guys dont mind =] whats teh difference between: CMX1024-3200PT and CMX1024-3200C2PT and will they both fit into my comp?
Wired
CMX1024-3200PT - 3-3-3-8 CMX1024-3200C2PT - 2-3-3-6 both compatible with the board, but it's never recommended to mix modules of different part #s / revision #s.
