K95 engineering flaw

Recommended Posts

so my spacebar has went bad on my k95.upon looking it over i noticed there

is a flaw in the design it has a mechanical switch in the middle and 2 dummy

switches on each end.the problem is both the dummy switches travel further

than the center mechanical switch causing a teetering effect.and over time

loosening and eventually allowing the spacebar to over travel and stick

heres my problem.there is no way this went undetected in testing this surely

would have shown itself.and if you look at any retail store the reviews show

it is widelly spead.cost me $32.00 to RMA for something that clearly was known

this was a very easy redesign of the dummy switches that was not done and we the customers are paying for it... highly disappointed in corsair.

Hi guydodge,

We're sorry to hear you experienced a teetering spacebar and appreciate your feedback to help us better our products. This issue sounds like it may be tracked to the stabilizer, which most of the time is able to be simply fixed but does occasionally require a replacement. We've since then made improvements to our stabilizers, which have been implemented on our recent K100 RGB and K60 keyboards.

i guess the good news is i RMA the keyboard and rather than fix it.

you choose to replace it GREAT ! so you would think, the new one lasted

about 3 weeks and is doing the same thing.why would you send me back

a defective keyboard these should be recalled and given a proper repair

(thats what i was expecting) now im back in the same sinking ship.

HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE experience thxs for letting me relive it once again

?id=2351698459ive found a fix for anyone having this issue.

get some scotch mounting squares cut about 1/8 to 3/16 inch strips

6 of them slightly longer than width of key.stick one on top

of another leaving the plastic on the top(so the pad doesnt

stick to the spacebar key) 2 strips high.

then with the space bar removed stick them on the outside

of all 3 switches.this will keep the spacebar from sticking down

as the problem is when the key travels to far.this is a simple redesign

corsair could have made themselves granted not with sticky pads

but hey we do what we have to.it works
