Scimone Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Hi, I'm mounting a new pc with motherboard Gigabyte Aorus x399 pro and using the corsair RM1000i. That mb requires besides the 24 pins, one 4+4 connector, and so far so good, but it needs also a 2+2 12v (see attachment) I cannot find a cable that can fit. Can you help me? Thank you in advance Mario
DevBiker Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 That's a EPS/ATX cable. It's another 4+4 but in half. So it's a 4, not a 2+2.
Scimone Posted April 5, 2020 Author Posted April 5, 2020 Thank you for your answer specifing better in technical terms, but how can i fix my problem?
acemaninwa871 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 You don't need that 4 pin plugged in. But if you want, you only use half of the other 8pin connector. Just plug it in.
DevBiker Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 You don't need that 4 pin plugged in. But if you want, you only use half of the other 8pin connector. Just plug it in. That's an x399. Yeah, you do need it. For the OP: Your PSU comes with two EPS/ATX 12V connectors. I gave you the correct name so that you could look on the side of the cables to get the correct one. It's in there. It'll be combined together as an 8 pin (4+4). Break it apart (it'll come apart) for your 2x 4+4 connectors.
acemaninwa871 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 My apologies. But as Dev said, it's there. You just need to plug it in as described.
Vegan Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Most of the X399 boards I looked at needed a pair of 8-pin EPS12V cables
DevBiker Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Most of the X399 boards I looked at needed a pair of 8-pin EPS12V cables Nah, most of them require an 8 pin + a 4 pin. Only a few require two 8 pin EPS/CPU power cables. That was one of my very specific conditions for my x399 so it was something that I was quite aware of. TRX40 is different. I think they all require the 4+4.
