neon_87
Hi, i have 1024MB Corsair XMS3200C2 TwinX running in dual channel mode on my ABIT IC-7G motherboard, and i was wondering if i was to get 1GB Corsair XMS3200C2Pro TwinX, that i have been offered second hand, will work in conjunction with my current RAM. Thanks for any help, NeOn
Wired
What is the revision of each TwinX pack? How To Read the Memory Label
neon_87
sorry about the long reply. I just got the memory, and seems to be running fine. Unfortionatly, it isnt the same revision. I copied down the info on the stickers of both my C2, and the new C2pro. C2: CMX512-3200C2 XMS3202v4.2 0435053-1 XMS3200 512MB 400MHZ CL2 C2PRO: CMX512-3200C2PRO XMS3202v4.1 0449015-1 XMS3200 512MB 400MHZ CL2 I hope that helps a bit. So far I have run a Si-soft Sandra 2004 memory bandwidth benchmark and it benches at: 4864MB/s Int Buffered 4866MB/s Float Buffered I have also checked with CPU-Z to see how its running, and its going at 2-3-3-6 @ dual channel. I have run 1 pass of Memtest 3.2, and it passes. I am planning to run it constantly through tonight. Just to clear things up, i have 4 memory slots, 2x2 dual channel. I have the following config: Channel 1 1. Corsair XMS3200C2 512MB 2. Corsair XMS3200C2pro 512MB Channel 2 3. Corsair XMS3200C2 512MB 4. Corsair XMS3200C2pro 512MB Would this be likely to cause compatability issues for me? Thanks for any help, NeOn
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 8, 2005 First thing, we only guarantee one set of modules at the tested settings. As far as what you might run into its hard too guess, but you may have to set the timings to Cass 3-3-3-8 and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts as well. neon_87
Thanks RAM GUY I ran memtest overnight, and after 9 hours 30 mins, and 18 successful passes, I had no errors. Would it damage the RAM at all if i run it at higher volts? I did all the tests on 2-3-3-
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 9, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 9, 2005 Just dont go over 2.9 Volts and you will be fine!
