Domingo_X
Hi, I currently have an HX1000 power supply and had a question about power cables and the Nvidia RTX2080Ti. Is it wiser to use a single power cable (which has two 6+2 PCI-E plugs at the end) or two separate cables? Threads on various enthusiast sites seem to disagree, so I figured I'd go straight to the source. What is the "official" recommendation?
Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted October 31, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 31, 2018 You should be able to power it with a single dual connector cable without issue. The card uses 260W, so you should be plenty fine there.
Domingo_X
Thanks for the quick answer. Would you say that there is any benefit or detriment to using two cables? How much would mild overclocking affect this?
Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted November 2, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2018 I wouldn't say there's a detriment, it's just a little more clutter. The double ended cable should be able to provide more than enough power.
