Daveangel
sure this has been asked before, hell I think I asked back in the day. link has evolved over the years but it still seems to be impossible to have a case fan sat at 0rpm. I used asus fan expert prior to link and that allowed 0rpm. my water loop on idle easily managed the heat anyone tell me if its possible ? thanks
red-ray
You have not specified which fan controller you are using or added your PC specs to your profile.
c-attack
Not likely and not through AI Suite either, at least with PWM fans. You were able to set the fan to zero because it was a DC motor and the voltage could be turned down to 0v, resulting in a stop. Can be a little trickier to get it started again on some models with higher start-up values. Since Link is meant to work with PWM pump controller unit and a continuous 12v signal, you can't cut the signal to 0v for a stop. You would need DC fans and a motherboard with this feature or old fashion fan controller.
Daveangel
Commander mini firm. 1.1.6 thanks that makes a lot of sense. I had assumed a new Asus (or other) board would be able to stop fans as my p6z77 does now but I guess not. the commander may have won a reprieve
snapper69
I used the Fan Xpert software for a while and it would stop my 3 Noctua PWM fans, which I thought was great, until 2 of my Seagate drives packed up. When I removed them they were HOT. Now I keep them running at about 600 rpm and the drives stay nice and cool
