fullvoid
I've been having random crashes and slowdowns on my PC for a few months. I ran memtest and it found 16 errors before I closed it. I need to get this replaced. It is a 512MB XMS module.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 3, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 3, 2004 Can you tell me the EXACT MODULE PART# and the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
fullvoid
The part # of the module (i guess this is the part #) is CMX512-3200LL (box says 3200C2). MB is ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe, CPU is an Athlon XP2800+, 2.09GHz. FSB is 333MHz. Bios Settings are: CPU Ext Freq 166MHz Freq Multiple 12.5x Memory Freq 100% SDRAM Active Precharge Delay: 6 SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay: 3 SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay: 3 SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T no other memory/performance settings. Wired
The sticker says 3200LL, but the box says C2? Hrm... Change your Cas Latency from 2.0 to 2.5, see if that helps.
fullvoid
I switched the settings up to 2.5-3-3-6 and am still getting the issues as well as the memtest errors. As far as the discrepancy between the box and the module, it is possible that I have a box for one of my brother's sticks but I don't know why I would. The 3200LL is what I ordered from Newegg, and it's what the sticker on the module says, and I have never had any reason to suspect Newegg of trouble. The problems have only begun occurring within the past few months. I ran the tests about a year ago and came up with no trouble at all at that time.
