tennengr
I plan to install Corsair - VENGEANCE® RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Memory Kit in my 1st build. I have read some information from year 2017 that I am wasting my time with anything above 2666 MHZ for AMD Ryzen 5 2600. Everything that I read this year indicates that 3000+ MHz is required to get the most out of the processor. The build will include MSI B450 Tomahawk MOBO and AMD Radeon RX580 GPU. The complete build is listed in the Gaming Enthusiast forum by tennengr (myself). The difference is $30.00 I think which is not a lot but would still like to know. Corsair Employee Corsair Kevin Posted December 19, 2018 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 19, 2018 The information you're reading is probably for the 1st gen Ryzen series CPUs. For peak performance, RAM between 3200MHz and 3600MHz is your best bet. Here's a great article from Legit Reviews concerning RAM speeds for the 2nd gen Ryzen CPUs: https://www.legitreviews.com/ddr4-memory-scaling-performance-with-ryzen-7-2700x-on-the-amd-x470-platform_205154
