About Me

Optical Drive # 1

  1. Hi all. I'm looking for help on why I can't get my memory kit to run at anything higher than 2133MHz and if what I am experiencing is normal or if I have faulty RAM? Been trying to get help on this for a month with no success.. Memory - cmk64gx4m2e3200c16 - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x32GB Motherboard - MAG B550M MORTAR WIFI - Bios ver. 1.40 CPU - Ryzen 3700X As soon as I run it at anything other than default BIOS values - Windows BSOD as soon as it tries to load. Even the Windows 10 installer fails. I've tried various different options of the main 5 numbers and the clock speed, as well as the voltage. Tried both XMP profiles. Been told to look at individual timings - the ones where there's like 20 different values to change but I haven't attempted that yet, I'm really struggling to know what to change any of those to.. But even so, is this expected I need to be doing all this just to try and get my memory to run past 2133MHz? I came across an application called DRAM Calculator for Ryzen - I tried to import my memory profile from Thaiphoon burner but it didn't work. I've asked for some help on other forums and in PC gamer communities but I've received a lot of mixed and conflicting information.. "QVL lists aren't that important" - is this true? I know motherboard manufacturer's can't test every single memory kit under the sun. But if it's not a QVL list thing then why am I experiencing so many problems getting my memory to run even past 2133MHz? "Running 4x16GB at higher clock speeds is harder on the machine than 2x32GB" - Advice someone gave me which ended up with me returning my 4x16GB and getting 2x32GB instead .. at least the 4x16GB module I was able to boot into windows at 2933MHz .. although it did BSOD under heavy loads. AMD just aren't very good at overclocking - Is this actually true? Should I just put up with not being able to have 64GB at anything higher than 2133MHz? Though I'm not even looking to "overclock" past the manufacturer's rated speed. Performance is seriously restricted running at anything less than 3200MHz on Ryzen CPU - And this is the main thing I keep hearing over and over again which is why I'm aiming for that number on my sticks and feeling pretty cheated that I can't get anywhere near that.. Like, I don't get it, if it's so difficult to run memory at the rated manufacturer speeds, why is it advertised at that speed? I think this memory was one of the cheapest 64GB memory modules - should I have paid more for better RAM? Again though if that's the case, why is it advertised at 3200MHz if it can't reach that.. Hope someone can help or at least point me in the right direction.. Thank you!
  2. We’ve partnered up with our friends at HWBOT to put together an overclocking competition that everyone can participate in before we celebrate the launch of DDR5 later this year! Requirements: You must use CORSAIR DDR4 memory No engineering/qualification samples of other components are allowed The rig you use must be yours and you must use the same platform (CPU/motherboard) for all 3 stages of the contest No sub-ambient cooling allowed, let's see what you can do with a standard air cooler / liquid cooling Contest Details: The competition will take place over the course of 3 different stages, each lasting roughly 2 weeks to give you time to dial in your overclock and get the highest score you can get for each benchmark (the benchmark will change for each stage). The first stage kicked off on August 15th and will run through September 7th (at the time of writing, you've got 18 days to get your first submission in for this stage of the competition). Entry Details: If you want to participate in this contest, head on over to HWBOT for the full list of rules and other information you need to get started! Prizes? There are prizes, right? Indeed! We're giving away prize packs to the top 5 competitors, including some keyboards, mice, and of course hardware for your next build like a MP600 PRO SSD and one of our new RMx power supplies! If you do well enough, you'll also get the chance to be among the first to get some kits of DDR5 memory when they launch later this year! Best of luck to all that participate!
  3. It's been months since they've been released and the highest theses kits go is only 3200MHz. Where are the 3600MHz and 4000MHz versions for these sticks? I haven't been able to find a timeline of when the new kits will release. All they have said is that they will come at a later date.
  4. I bought 2 2x8gb kits from Newegg (CMW16BX4M2D3000C16) They look beautiful. However, "dim 1" which is in slot 3 from the CPU socket seems to have a dead LED in at the very "bottom" of the stick. Ill attach a photo. Is ive tried to reseat the ram and it's seated all the way in. Is it even worth trying to replace the stick as Ill most likely have to replace both sticks from the kit? The issue isn't all that obvious on some lighting options. Thanks in advance
  5. Firsty I´m explaning it: So I have 4x 8Gb RAM parts of the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro and if I´m using effect like color wave in icue than it looks like they´re in the wrong order? :[pouts: DIMM 1 on ICUE is visual DIMM 3 DIMM 2 on ICUE is visual DIMM 1 DIMM 3 on ICUE is visual DIMM 4 DIMM 4 on ICUE is visual DIMM 2 i´ve put some pictures down below Could somebody help me with is Problem?
  6. Recently I brought the K70 RGB MK.2. I can't find save profile to device on iCUE. Thought Keyboard is defective. After little research, hope I found the solution. It is not about the iCUE or hardware issue. I'm running iCUE Version 3.15.101 Keyboard Firmware Version 3.24 WE NEED TO SOFT-RESET THE KEYBOARD Follow these steps to Soft Reset the Keyboard Quit iCUE Unplug the keyboard With the keyboard unplugged, hold down the ESC key. While holding down the ESC key, plug the keyboard back into the computer. After about 20 seconds, release the ESC key. If done correctly, your keyboard's lighting will flash. For the K95 RGB Platinum, this process is slightly different: Quit iCUE Unplug the keyboard With the keyboard unplugged, hold down the ESC key. While holding down the ESC key, plug the keyboard back into the computer. Hold the key down until the keyboard begins to flash. Unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. Official Link to Keyboard Soft-Reset Official Link to Mouse Soft-Reset Issues: You cant export or copy the Default Profile to Onboard Memory. You need to Select one of the Onboard Memory Profile (HW1, HW2, HW3) and select Lightening effect. Only 5 custom or 1 predefined lightening effects can be created for Hardware Profiles. NOTE: I don't have K95 RGB or Corsair Mouse to check this method. If anyone have K95 RGB or Corsair Mouse, try this method and comment on this thread
  7. Hello Everyone, I am new to the forum. I am also new to PC building in general and have learned quickly I have chosen the worst time in history to build a PC due to everything going up in price and parts being hard to find. The components I plan on running are as follows: CASE: Corsair 5000D Airflow (Black) MOTHERBOARD: ASUS AMD AM4 ROG Strix X-570E CPU: Ryzen 5600x GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3070 (Black) MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 3600 HARD DRIVE: Corsair Pro MP600 M.2 2280 1TB (2X) POWER SUPPLY: Corsair RM850x Full Modular (80 GOLD PLUS) CPU COOLER: Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix CPU Cooler (Black) CASE FANS: Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB Fans (Black) (10 Fans) (3 Packs of 3 + 1) My question has to do the memory. With this set up in mind which ram would be best for my CPU/GPU/Motherboard. The two kits I’m looking are: 1) CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model CMH32GX4M4D3600C18. https://www.newegg.com/corsair-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820236713?Item=N82E16820236713 2) CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model CMW32GX4M4D3600C16 https://www.newegg.com/corsair-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820236697 The only differences I can tell in performance is 16 CAS latency with option #1 Vengeance RGB Pro SL vs 18 CAS latency with option #2 Vengeance RGB Pro. I personally like the SL version as I think it is looks cleaner and it matches the 5000 D Airflow case better. But which would run better with my set up? Is the difference between 16 and 18 latency going to make that big of difference? Thanks in advance for anyone that responds!
  8. My build is in both my forum profile and also here on pcpartpicker ( https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Gadolinium/saved/6fkVwP ) Looked around on some other forum posts on this issue, and even one person just gave up from the looks of it. I've got ab4x8G kit of Vengeance Pro RGB, and the 4 channels/sticks are out sync with eachother. Just looking at all 4 sticks set to marquee, I can watch the effect start off in-sync, but then over time, they will be all out of order with eachother. EDIT: Minor spelling issues. Want to add that the out-of-sync issue happens on ALL effects. iCue's preview always looks okay, but the effects will slowly go out of sync between the RAM sticks themselves. Even setting it to software-controlled has problems.
  9. Hi people I'm wondering if anyone knows the difference in functionality between this Memory Kit 01 and this Memory Kit 02 ? They both have exact same specs and only one character difference in the serials. (Check screenshot) Listed on QVL: CMK64GX4M4B3000C15 Not listed on QVL: CMK64GX4M4C3000C15 I also know that the first kit is V4.31 and the second kit is V4.32 The reason I'm asking what the actual functional difference is, is because V4.32 (which I have purchased) is NOT listed on the Qualified Vendors List (QVL) of compatible RAM with the ASUS MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI) motherboard. But V4.31 is. Could there be a reason why V4.32 is not listed? My feeling is that it should be fine but wanted to get a second opinion from you Pro builders? Especially seeing as everyone's advice to me since I bought the RAM has been to make sure I pick a model from the motherboard QVL. What's the worse that could happen if I build my PC from scratch and put an incompatible memory kit in? very thankful for any help
  10. Hi all, it's about time for a fresh general guide for using XMP/manually overclocking your memory so we've worked with Linus to put this quick video together. [ame] [/ame]
  11. Hi, I'm in panic mode because I bought a RAM which not Ryzen 3000 certified. It's the CMW16GX4M2C3200C16 v4.32 model. (C Die) Now I can return this product and have about 5 days left to do it but can someone verify if this RAM kit would work properly on Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite or MSI B550 A Pro with a R5 3600 or R7 3700X. I haven't bought the motherboard yet so there's that. (X570 Aorus Elite or Asus TUF Gaming x570 would get the job done too)
  12. I have just bought two new sticks of Dominator Platinum DDR4 memory and found that the version numbers differ from the two sticks I'm currently using in my build Other than the version numbers they are the same product (16GB, DDR4, 3200MHz) The new version number is 5.32 and the existing one is 4.31 Will there be any problems with this? I'm unsure how to check if they're compatible
  13. Hello people. I have this little problem, maybe you can help me to solve it. I have 4x8gb Dominator Platinum (cmt16gx4m2c3200c16) they work just perfect, but one of the sticks is having some weird rgb behaviour, it only turns on blue, It doesn't matter the effect I apply they will work(at the moment I have them all on static color, 3 of them are white and the first one is completely blue), but only if that ram stick has to turn on blue, these are all new sticks(bought them yesterday) so they shouldn't be damaged. Any help would be appreciated
  14. Hi, I recently ordered a new set of Vengeance LPX memory, 2 x 8GB - 16GB, and it is rated for 3200Mhz. I checked with my motherboards overclocking capabilities and it is rated up to 3200MHz, however when I set my DRAM-Frequency to DDR4-3200Mhz in my BIOS and checked both Task Manager and CPU-Z neither showed any increase to the speed.
  15. Hi everyone. Looking to buy Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2x16 GB) 3200MHz, and I have a couple of questions: 1. Is this enough for an i5 9400F + 2070 setup? 2. I use a lot of software for work (Skype, Trello, WorkTime, PS, Chrome, Blender), so do I need to buy 4x16 GB instead of 2x16 GB?
  16. I can't seem to find the hardware lighting profile to keep my lighting profile after the Icue app is closed. So basically when I set a color and close the app the colors go back to factory (rainbow or something). How do I find this setting for the memory or at least how do I make it stay the color I choose? I have 6 LL fans and they have the hardware lighting profile. so when I turn on/off my computer or closed the Icue app they stay with the color profile I choose. Thanks in advance
  17. Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1866MHz 16GB (kit) Partnumber: CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R 8GBx4 sticks = 32GB Motherboard: MSI Z97A Gaming 7 CPU: 4790k BIOS: 1.B It's listed as supported sticks in the OC list: http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/support/Z97A-GAMING-7.html#support-ocmem Anyone can help me with the settings, timings volts etc? I'd like to get atleast 2000MHz or 2133MHz out of the overclock.
  18. I have recently been having some issues with my Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB sticks. They are doing the rainbow wave, and are not showing up in iCue anymore. I did some research, and people suggested removing any software that might take control of them, such as an Intel tuning utility, or third-party RGB software, which I did. I even removed the sticks, and put them in a different slot, then tried the same slots again. No change. Occasionally they would show up in iCue with a red triangle on them. I turned on debugging and did some research, and this is what I got, logs filled with messages like these: 2020-04-16T11:07:18 W cue.llaccess.server: dramWriteByte failed "Dram [0:5b]" cmd: 97 data: 0 2020-04-16T11:07:18 W cue.llaccess.server: dramWriteByte failed "Dram [0:5b]" cmd: 97 data: 0 2020-04-16T11:07:18 W cue.llaccess.server: dramWriteByte failed "Dram [0:5b]" cmd: 97 data: 0 2020-04-16T11:08:42 W cue.llaccess.server: Failed to lock SMBus controller: 0 2020-04-16T11:39:17 W cue.llaccess.server: Failed to lock SMBus controller: 0 2020-04-16T11:39:17 W cue.llaccess.server: Failed to lock SMBus for exclusive use "Dram [0:5b]" 2020-04-16T11:39:22 W cue.llaccess.server: Failed to lock SMBus controller: 0 2020-04-16T11:39:22 W cue.llaccess.server: Failed to lock SMBus for exclusive use "Dram [0:59]" 2020-04-16T11:39:26 W cue.llaccess.server: Failed to lock SMBus controller: 0 Any suggestions on how to correct this? I have more RAM coming in today to bump up my system to 32GB, but I just want it all working correctly. Thank you
  19. HI everyone, wishes for better and health world!.. My new memory kit CMT32GX4M2C3200C16, Dominator RGB 3200Mhz CL16, can't reach 3200mhz with my: Gigabyte Aorus Elite motherboard and Ryzen 3900x.. I did updated motherboard, I did try disable XMP Profile and manually timing, and other settings,.. I did try some auto, some manuel settings,.. I achieved 3000mhz with XMP profile but giving extra Dram Multiplier setting with 30x,.. but no further than 30... After 30x multiplier motherboard disables OC and gives me stock 2133mhz... I did try some voltage settings less or more... I also noticed that my motherboard gives extra voltage for auto xmp profile, it's about 1.385v not 1.35v. but I think it's normal thing, motherboards do. If you guys have any knowledge of this products or anything, please let me know... I am open for any suggestion... thanks... Keep safe, stay home!..
  20. Hi everyone, I am new to the community and this is my first post. I bought my setup about 6 months ago and cannot get my RAM to run at its proper speeds. I have an ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero motherboard with 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro CMW32GX4M2C3200C16 RAM. Unfortunately I didn't know how finicky this chipset is with RAM and I didn't check the compatibility list (My RAM is not listed). The BIOS automatically defaults to 2133 MHz speed and I've tried changing the speed to 3200 MHz. Is there anybody who could help me out with this? I am not familiar with changing RAM settings. Thanks in advance!
  21. Hello all, Literally my first post, forgive me if i mess up on one or more of the rules. I purchased 4 32gb 2x16gb Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz C16 Timings: 16-18-18-36 Model #: CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16 Version: 3.31 Voltage: 1.35 Made in Taiwan So the lists of compatible ram I've seen (https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=170272) was last updated in August of 2017. The kits I bought all had imagery (icon) showing support for Ryzen. Since Vengeance RGB pro was launched in June 2018 I was wondering if these pro versions of Vengeance ram are supported. Note, I did go to corsairs threadripper compatibility page but it is using the same information I mentioned earlier from August 2018 and does not reflect the vengeance rgb pro sku. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  22. Hello all. I am new to the CORSAIR and custom builds. I currently am working on a 3 monitor setup. My tower included the following.. AMD Ryzen 9 3900x ASUS AMD AM4 ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) Motherboard Corsair Force MP600 M.2 2280 1TB - 2 of these MSI Geforce RTX 2080 TI 11GB Gaming X Trio Corsair 1000 Watt Platinum Power supply Windows 10 64 Bit Monitors are Asus ROG Swift PG279Q 27inch (Running a 3 monitor setup) Tower is a Corsair Crystal 570X RGB Mirror Black ATX Mid Tower Cooling is Corsair H115i RGB Platinum Liquid Cooler My questions is... I am looking at 2 memory modules. One being the.... CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 CMW32GX4M2C3200C16 CORSAIR Dominator Platinum RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600 CMT16GX4M2K3600C16 Which one is going to work better in my system? I hear a lot of mixed reviews on memory compatibility with the Ryzen 3000 series. Plus one is a Dominator and one is a Vengeance. Personally I like the looks of the Vengeance over the Dominator, but I can not find the Vengeance with 3600 MHZ. Any help would be great
  23. Hello all. I am new to the CORSAIR and custom builds. I currently am working on a 3 monitor setup. My tower included the following.. AMD Ryzen 9 3900x ASUS AMD AM4 ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) Motherboard Corsair Force MP600 M.2 2280 1TB - 2 of these MSI Geforce RTX 2080 TI 11GB Gaming X Trio Corsair 1000 Watt Platinum Power supply Windows 10 64 Bit Monitors are Asus ROG Swift PG279Q 27inch (Running a 3 monitor setup) Tower is a Corsair Crystal 570X RGB Mirror Black ATX Mid Tower Cooling is Corsair H115i RGB Platinum Liquid Cooler My question, after doing some research, is what memory would be good for this setup. I have read a lot with the Ryzen processors to go with CL16 DDR4 3600. I am very confused when it comes to this, and don't understand what would be good, especially when it comes to the CL 14, 16, 18 etc.... and then the speed changing (mhz) when I go from the different CL's. My motherboard says it support speeds up to 4600mhz and has 4 slots holding up to a maximum of 128 GB. Any information here would be helpful. I am looking to purchase soon, I just want to be sure that I am putting together a system that will run great. We are using it for gaming/streaming.
  24. Hi, I recently bought my first computer but it has got a problem. At first I would sync my memory's LEDs easily with AURA or iCUE but some thing has changed now, as my ram doesn't show up at all in either iCUE or AURA. I have tried uninstalling either of the two and run the one left on its own numerous times, have tried BIOS updates, reseating the modules and the lot. Any ideas?
  25. I have an HP Omen 870-244 with 2166mhz memory speed. Is there any compatible Corsair memory 2666 or higher?
