Vengeance 2000 volume wheel doesn't work in admin apps and fullscreen games

So if you ever saw my other thread about the media keys and volume wheel on the K90 (http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=106484) you would know that they do not work at all in fullscreen games or applications that have admin privileges, well the same exact issue is with the Vengeance 2000. As you may imagine this is a big issue as you can not adjust the volume at all with out using alt-tab. So do you plan on fixing this in newer drivers when ever they come out?

I was using the Vegeance 2000 last night playing BF3 and my dial was able to adjust the volume.

Can you give me a run down of your setup, the game you are playing.

It only works in games that have problems alt+tabbing, battlefield 3 works fine, any source game works fine, but games like skyrim and other games that dont support aero do not work at all

I disagree with the poster. I believe he must not have administrative privileges when he logs in.

I have a system with Windows 7/64 bit, and I just loaded up Skyrim and went to the Bleak Falls temple puzzle the roller worked just fine for me. IT DOES NOT instantaneously change the volume. It takes a little more than a second for the changes to be audible.

Battlefield 3 worked perfectly fine "on the fly" and so did Arkham City.

Strangely enough, the account I log into on my PC is the Administrator account. Not an administrator account, the administrator account, and despite this, I still have to check "Run as Administrator" under compatibility in order for this to work in Skyrim.

Not strange at all. It's because of UAC.

BTW, you can mark programs to always run with administrative privileges.

Guess I'm just surprised that despite turning UAC off and running on the administrator account it still has to be set to run as administrator.

Oh well, at least it works.

Same thing happens to me as well. Skyrim, the witcher 2 wont let me adjust volume using the wheel, but games like starcraft, half life etc lets me do it. I only have one account on the computer and that is the administrator account.

To be fair to you and not think "I know" what you may or may not have done, have you right clicked the game's shortcut, chosen properties, and set it to run as administrator? Or perhaps are you simply right clicking the shortcut each time and choosing "run as admin......." ?

Sorry but if [ J ] Man's returning his headset over this he's a numpty.

Logitech headsets have exactly the same issue (tested on g35) and with the same types of games, volume does work but as stated it takes a few seconds to take effect. Windows issue, not a headset issue.

BF3 works fine.

Skyrim, delays.
