Saltjunkie
Item:CMT12GX3m3a2000c9 The tests I have been running show my ram kit running at 1078 MHz instead of it's stock 2000 MHz. Why is it running so slowly and how can I get it to run at it's proper speed.
Wired
How are you checking the speed? If you're checking in the memory tab in CPU-Z, then you're actually running the memory at 2156 MHz.
Saltjunkie
I was using MaxxMEM 2, but the CPU-z score is 531.7 MHz. Any thoughts? Thanks for help.
Wired
Ok, so it's running at default speeds. You need to OC your CPU to allow it to run the memory at a faster rate.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 28, 2012 And I doubt that an I950 will do much about DDR1600 for the memory but you just have to test the system.
peanutz94
Things you can do /try First ake sure you have the latest BIOS for your MB. Then load set-up defaults and enable XMP in your BIOS. That kit may have two different profilees, one for 1600 or 1866mhz and one for 2000mhz.(I BELIEVE) I would start out with the lowest speed first and test for stabiity. . You may also have to add QPI voltage(memory controller)and with your CPU you can go as high as 1.45v with a starting point at about 1.3v. This is all a long shot, as RamGuy pointed out the 950 are not known for being good overclockers and sometimes struggle with anything 1600mhz and above RAM. But you can certainly give it a shot!
