HiveMudkipz
Hi there! Recently put together a new build with a Corsair 850HX but - and this has happened a total of three times now - whenever I switch the PSU on from the back from O to I, there is a flash of white light coming from inside it somewhere for just a brief instance. Is this a normal feature of the product? Or is there some hidden damage I need to be concerned with?
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted January 27, 2020 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 27, 2020 If you just purchased the power supply we would recommend you proceed with a return and exchange of the power supply. SupremeLordGeek
Sounds like an arc and I would be very concerned. Try not to use that PSU because it is a shock hazard. It may also run excess power through your system so use at your own risk. NOTE: I am not a corsair engineer but an arc is never good and is always a shock hazard. The excess power bit may not be true, but as someone quite familiar with electrical work, it is likely.
