  1. Tried that but it only lights up the last four LEDs on the first strip and the first six on the second. Then there's no more choice to add yet another block. Since the lighting stips were a four pack, this kinda cuts down on the usefullness. OK, I give up, if you buy this four pack of lights, WTF are you supposed to do with it to make it work? Where does it want to be plugged in?
  2. My pump and GPU block lights are daisy chained on a lighting channel off the Commander Pro. Works great. I added a "Lighting Pro" rgb strip onto the end of the chain, so it goes CP > XG7 >XD5 > Strip. The 3 pin plug connects no problem. But when I hit add in iCue, the only options are XC5 and 7 CPU blocks. WTF... how do I add the strip? If I select one of those blocks, a few LED come on along the strip, but obviously the pattern is totally wrong. The second 3-pin on the CP is taken up going to an RGB hub, which has the 4 pin, not the 3 pin. Added to the daisy chain is the only place to plug the strip. Has anyone else noticed Corsair's 3 pin and 4 pin mishmash system is a total PITA?
  3. Well the thing just won't come on today. Filled out the rma request online. Computing via phone for the next however long 😞 Does anyone know the part number for a white XD3?? It asked that and i just put XD3, white. The sticker on the thing doesn't have any detail except a serial number and some regulatory stuff
  4. I felt it after running all day and can't find any warm spot on the back or bottom at all. Well, I've been wondering if maybe an XD5 would look better in the case anyway, so if it flakes out again I'll probably just go to one of those.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure about the molex getting power or not on an ATX PSU but now that's ruled out. The pump is suspended on its fan mount bracket from the front center fan on a 5000D AF so it's about as cool running as it can get. I keep it at 55% power all the time, is that maybe not spinning fast enough? In terms of the loop the components are totally fine with that speed but what is the happy speed for one of these things? I just assumed that full on would wear faster,
  6. A 5000D fits two normal 30mm thickness 360's, yes, no problem. A thicker one can be fit in the front but you'd have trouble putting any size in the top after a thick is on front. If that one you named has some other thickness than 30mm, you'll need to mention it.
  7. All the Corsair fans have a model number on a sticker. There are several models that are possible that they stick in for the comes-with case fans so I don't want to guess and tell you wrong. You need to open it up and have a look at the sticker to be sure.
  8. What might cause an XD3 to sometimes not start pumping? It has never been running then stopped, but sometimes it just doesn't start at all. Not very often, perhaps only once every other month. When it does happen, I just have to power off completely (including the power supply main switch) to get it restarted. This makes me suspect there's a good chance it may be in the PSU (RM-850x) not supplying power to the molex, to which this pump is the only thing connected. It just happened again this morning which has prompted me to ask here. Thanks for any suggestions how to diagnose this.
  9. Some extremely minor detail that isn't worth looking up, really. Probably a revision or batch. Even if you find a pair of two-packs on the store shelf there's a chance of something like this between the two packs. The only way to avoid it is to buy a 4 way kit in one package. Honestly, don't sweat it. Just get the same speed and use it.
  10. From the software's point of view each device plugs into a USB header and is its own device. It's not like the old, old days when devices had to manually have their own address or ID set on like a DB25 serial or parallel channel. However, probably no one has done more than one so it's hard to give you a definitive answer. You should sell the unused CPU AIO and buy a universal GPU AIO. NZXT makes one but Corsair does not.
  11. I used Corsair's own clear red fluid for a while and this gunk built up on the fin plates of my XC7 and XG7 😞. The XC7 cleared right up after soaking in isopropyl and scrubbing with a toothbrush. However, the XG7's fins refuse to come clean. This is after 4 hours of soaking and vigorous toothbrushing. Any suggestions??? This buildup is killing the cooling ability 😞
  12. I mean it used to list GPU temperature, 65C or whatever, "Radeon Package" was the name I think. And then I could put 65C means yellow LEDs in the block lights. GPU temp isn't showing up in dashboard anymore as well.
  13. At some point I didn't notice the version but iCue has stopped listing GPU temp as an option. It replaced itself with CPU temp. I used to have the XG7 reflect the GPU temp (Radeon 6800) and the XC7 reflect the CPU temp (5600X). Now both show the CPU temp and the Radeon temp is not on the list at all. Anyone else notice this?
  14. Yes, mounting like you describe would just about solve it! I don't think I could get my finger in to do one screw even if I could slide the cage in 😞
  15. You might verify with the motherboard manufacturer's website that your motherboard definitely supports a 5900X. Don't assume that AM4 socket means that it will.
  16. OK, I finally found in the manual showing (but not outright saying) that the 3.5 bay needs to be shunted towards the front in order to use both it and a power supply at the same time. Since this would need a lot of rework (I currently have a radiator on the side, which doing this would block), I guess I am out of luck.
  17. The picture on the product page shows a pair of 3.5 drives with an RM850 in the bottom of the 5000D but notice there are no cables plugged in to the PSU. I've got a 5000D with an RM850 in it and heck if I can figure out how to put the 3.5 drive cage back in now that I've plugged the cables in. They just don't want to squash in there. Has anyone succeeded in this? Any hints?
  18. The first thing to decide when getting a 5000D is whether you want to keep in the side vent panel in place or removed. Sounds like you are thinking to remove it? Its probably better with an AIO to leave that cover in place and put the AIO in the top which is the best place. An AIO is quite efficient at removing heat so it doesn't mind if the air is slightly warmer from the GPU versus the GPU cooler which is quite susceptible to any increase in air temp. And the "Airflow" version of this case is not a joke; there is plenty of air moving through to cool it all. The H150i (and any other Corsair AIO) comes with everything you need to make its fans spin and light up, so don't worry about buying any kind of controller or whatever for that. The thermal paste preapplied is just fine; after a couple of years that stuff dries out so worry about replacing it then not now.
  19. Yeah I tried setting it as 4 LL but that didnt work. Strange that the hub is 3 pins and the fans are 4... Oh well.
  20. I have the 6 way RGB hub that came with a 3 pack of LL120. They all light up fine. When I put an ML120 RGB in spot 4, I can't find a way to add a second type to the channel nor will it just mindlessly rainbow or anything. Meanwhile my Commander Pro's available RGB channel is 3 pin while the ML fan's RGB cable is 4 pin. Am I just out of luck lighting the ML until I get another RGB hub or am I missing something in the setup for the hub lighting channel?
  21. Any fluid for copper/nickel cooling is good for hydro x, but avoid the opaque kind because that stuff clogs up no matter what brand.
  22. Hey you're welcome; now repeat after me: "I like my 280x because it's so small and I dislike my 280x because it's so small."
  23. That looks like a 280 case not a 240. Go to the hardware store (Ace, HomeDepot, etc) and get some little rubber grommets to raise the top glass about quarter inch. Or you can 3d print some. This will make a huge difference. Also consider a pair of 120 fans in the bottom as additional intake. Where's the drain port?
  24. Part of the problem may be that so few people can buy video cards in the first place, it may barely make business sense to even make many of the black ones.
  25. I share your pain, I have white 280x, white xc7, white xd3.... black xg7 😞
