    Hello everyone,

First time here, but wanted to put in some info that may, or may not help some of you.   I have the H170i Elite LCD Cooler that I got in December of 2021and had been working well until about a month ago due to a port going bad on my Commander Pro, so I got a cheap internal USB hub from Amazon  from Micro Connectors model S08-303-IA https://www.amazon.com/Micro-Connectors-S08-303-IA-Internal-Expansion/dp/B07QHQF92K/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8   I never did plug in the SATA power by the recommendations of many in the reviews due to possibly damaging hardware in my PC, but it lasted only a month until my LCD started freezing up again and would no longer be detected by ICUE.  So, I went ahead and spent a bit more to get the NZXT internal USB Hub  https://www.provantage.com/nzxt-0c-iusbh-m3~7NZXT0FJ.htm and now all is working well again!!  I did use the SATA power on this brand because its a well known brand and no negative reviews about issues.  Just thought this may help some of you out there since I really didn't think at first that that a cheap USB hub would be the culprit, but in my case, it was.....No more lock ups and ICUE detects all of my hardware properly again.   I currently have 8 Corsair RGB Fans, the H170i Elite LCD, A Corsair Dark Core Pro Mouse, 32 Gigs of Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB  and my newest edition, a Corsair Void RGB Wireless Headset.

Hope this helps some, or many out there as it was frustrating to figure out what was causing this....

The NZXT AC-IUSBH-M3 internal USB hub is a high-quality product, which is surprising coming from NZXT. The other internal hub that I trust is the Aquacomputer Hubby7, but hey can be quite hard to find in stock in the US. I bought an NZXT hub a few weeks ago from Provantage because they had the best price. Shipping was quick. Great experience.

I clicked your link today and it did not work so I went to their site and searched for it using the model number and the Provantage item number that is on my invoice. Nothing, I guess they stopped carrying them, which is odd because when I bought mine, they had quite a few on them in stock.

Whatever the case with that, it is sad that you have to go buy a USB hub from someone else to make Corsair's flakey AIO products work reliably. Corsair has had USB problems for years. I learned long ago to never even try to use the USB passthrough ports on the Commander Pro. All these years later, they still have USB problems.

Just purchased the NZXT, should be here Wednesday so I will update regardless if this solves my issue or not.

HOWEVER.  I do want to point out that even though the link (and other websites) state this as the NZXT USB Gen 3 Hub, don't forget that the LCD cap and radiator are USB Gen 2 (he NZXT that this guy linked is gen 2).  This got both me, and one of the micro center employees into thinking that we needed a Gen 3 USB hub (I totally didn't buy a different Gen 3 hub and returned it....)

I think you are confused. The NEXT hubs are all USB2.0. NZXT has updated their hub several times, and refers to the current version as "Gen-3", as in third version of their USB2.0 hub. It is confusing.

Honestly I bet I could fix most or all of the issues if I was able to roll back the firmware on the 'commander core' box of rocks. Every FW patch has resulted in reduced functionality of some kind. I don't want to go so far as to say it is planned obsolescence... but I do think they are prioritizing support of their newest revision/release of products including fans and LCDs.

My LCD continues to happily display the very last GIF I uploaded to it with no real way to edit or change that setting.

You may be right about that. I recall Corsair releasing a flurry of software and firmware updates, changing the device detection code, etc. when they were still actually trying to fix all these problems. It seemed like this fixed some, but not all of the problems, and possibly created some new ones. I don't know how long its been since they released any more updates. I know people have managed to regress firmware by getting the file out of an AppData folder that iCue put it in, then dragging the firmware file over a bootloader file. I don't recall the specific procedure but if you search this forum you will find posts about doing this. It is not something that Corsair supports, and I don't think they will send you the required firmware files, but sometimes other users make them available. IIRC, they get deleted after an update so you have to grab them before they disappear.

I did not know that Corsair has released new models of AIO coolers. I checked the site and see the Elite LCD and the Elite LCD XT. Is that the new one? The only difference I saw was the Elite LCD comes with ML RGB Elite fans while the Elite LCD XT comes with AF RGB Elite fans with "AirGuide technology". I guess these AF fans are new? Other than the fans, the 2 products look the same to me. Both have a 480x480 IPS LCD display, the same pump (I think), and both come with a Commander Core.

I think the problems plaguing these products would affect all versions. I don't pay much attention to Corsair's new products anymore. They make a few decent cases and some of their fans are OK but I have moved on from iCue and Corsair controllers. I still have a few in my rigs but I don't use iCue to control them. When they released their AIO coolers with video displays I decided NOT to buy one based on my past experiences with Corsair. I had this gut feeling that it would be a fiasco and apparently I was right. Good luck with your display.

  4. OMG - Corsair has STILL not fixed this dumpster fire of a product? I pop in every few months to see if the issues with the Corsair AIO video display have been resolved. Every time I do, I find several new pages of posts reporting the same problems over and over again.

I just looked back through the last 4 pages in this thread and did not see a single post from anyone at Corsair. Are they even trying to fix these issues anymore? I can't believe they gave not pulled these products from the market. Instead, they are still happily selling these things to unsuspecting customers while apparently doing little or nothing to resolve the issues.

I learned my lesson and moved on from Corsair, but I feel bad for those who haven't yet and spent their hard-earned money only to end up posting their woes on this forum. I'll guess I'll check again after another few months. Good Luck Y'all.

Uuffff, what a mess. I had all that was described on this post. it seems that AMD never solved USB connection problems through AGESA. iCUE just can't handle all micro disconnections from USB hardware and it crash. I recently went back to intel and now all system is stable, iCUE works as it should. Hope one day AMD resolves USB issues.

    Good Luck everyone

Interesting that switching to an Intel system seems to have solved your USB problems. AMD did have some USB issues early on, but I have not heard any recent complaints. I had USB problems with Commander Pro's and Lighting Node Pro's in 2 different Intel rigs - 1 Haswell-E / X99 and 1 Coffee Lake / Z370.  I put NZXT internal USB2.0 hubs in both systems and the USB problems stopped. I learned to never use the 2 USB pass-through ports on the Commander Pro. I have 2 Lighting Node Cores in a Ryzen 3000 rig and have had no problems with them, though I don't control them with iCue.

There are several programs on my NEVER INSTALL list. Asus Aura, Armoury Crate, Thermaltake TRGBPlus and DPS G, and Corsair iCue. My rigs have had no problems since I stopped using these programs. When I come back to this forum and read all these posts, I feel bad for those who have not figured out that iCue is more trouble than it's worth.  The fan and pump control is a joke and there are other programs that can control Corsair RGB controllers with a lot less headaches. YMMV...

Hey there! The temps you are seeing are really good. The average CPU idle temp to look for is anywhere between 30-40 degrees Celsius, average CPU temps while gaming should be roughly around 60-75 degrees Celsius, but will be fine up to 80 degrees Celsius depending on the load.

I am pretty sure OP is asking about his AIO coolant temp, not his CPU temps. OP said his coolant temp is getting up to 42°C. That is not too high for a custom loop (except maybe with PETG tubing), but for an AIO it may be a concern.

Before it was End of June. I dont trust anymore.

I don't blame you. This product release has been a complete dumpster fire from the beginning. I cannot understand how Corsair could have ever thought that this product was ready for release, or why they have not at least pulled them from the market once they were hit with a tidal wave of complaints. They seem to be in totally over their heads with this, but they are still happy to sell these to unsuspecting customers who are dazzled by their pretty display. It's pathetic.

Guys, I managed to fix it!
this helped me to get EVERYTHING working:

    -Remove Elite LCD from pins

    -Blow on pins (for dust)

-Reseat Elite LCD on pins and push it, to be sure is makes good contact

    -Remove splitter cable

-Connect two cables from RGB + Fans and also the LCD cable directly to the motherboard

Glad you got it working, and I hope that it keeps working. What concerns me is that the things you listed have been done by many others on this thread, and it did not work for them, or maybe worked for a little while. AFAIK Corsair still intends to release a major software and/or firmware update. If they do, will you update or just leave it alone?

Hello All - Anyone else have an issue where the LCD is locking up? I just got this thing and it's been problems from the start.  Couldn't get the LCD to even work at first. Had to call support to find out that the splitter was an issue. Got the LCD working now though, so yay! But 24 hrs later a new issue. when I shutdown and start up. It works fine for an undetermined amount of time. 20 min to an hour go by and any animation that is displayed will freeze and that's it. Screen is just frozen. The only way to recover is to shutdown and restart. Splitter is removed. I'm plugged directly into the motherboard USB headers. BIos, drivers up to date. I've reseated swapped USB headers, etc several times now. any ideas?  Seems like it's more of a FW/software issue. I've still got 2 weeks before I can return it for something else. Curious what some of you who've had this device for longer would recommend for someone in my shoes? Should i hold out hoping this will be fixed via software or just go with NZXT?

    Asus z690 hero

    H150i AIO

    Version 4 of iCUE (current)

I've tried removing all the other "conflicting software" armoury crate, etc. No difference.

Do you see that this thread is now 23 pages long, and was started on March 1st? It is also not the original thread or the only thread about this. These problems have been going on since this product was released and Corsair has still not fixed it. Last I heard, Corsair was going to release a major update sometime in June - not sure if that means iCue, firmware, or both. This LCD display AIO cooler has basically been a total disaster. I can't imagine how Corsair ever decided this product was ready for release.

  11. On 5/20/2022 at 4:13 PM, Corsair Notepad said:

What you explained here would most likely show that the issue was indeed due to a lack of USB power over the internal USB headers on the motherboards. The USB connections on the Commander Pro are pure passthroughs, and the SATA power connector on the Commander Pro does not provide supplemental power to the USB passthroughs. If there isn't enough power being provided over the USB headers then additional devices plugged into the USB passthrough will have a hard time retaining a constant USB connection with the system. This is notorious on AMD Ryzen systems but can effect Intel as well.

The issue at hand here in this thread isn't related to any of those issues, and as pointed out in the original post AMD acknowledged the issue and also released updates in order to resolve the issue regarding USB connectivity issues with PCIe 4.0.

OK fair enough, but why does the Lighting Node Pro (LNP) require more power than the passthrough port on the Co-Pro can provide? The LNP has a Sata power connection so power for LED loads should come from that, not the USB port. I think the LED power does come from the Sata power connection so why does the LNP USB connection need so much power? If your products regularly exceed the power limitations of many (most?) mobo USB headers, to me that is a design flaw in  your product, not the mobo.

If you know that plugging an LNP into a Co-Pro USB port often results in USB disconnects, then maybe the Co-Pro USB ports should pull power from the Co-Pro Sata power instead of just being pass throughs. You provide these convenience USB ports on the Co-Pro  so people can plug in the USB cable from your LNP, AIO, or whatever, but the USB ports on the Co-Pro can't provide enough power for those Corsair devices to operate properly. Again, this seems to me to be a Corsair design flaw.

Regarding AMD USB issues - yes they had some, and maybe still do, but I think these are PCIe4.0 issues, not USB power limitation issues. My point is that Corsair USB connectivity has been an issue for a long time but every time I see a post about USB connectivity issues, Corsair seems to promptly use the AMD USB issues as an excuse even though many of these USB issues are power limit related, not PCIe 4.0 related.

man i hope they can find a solution soon, i've read these problems have gone on for around 2 years now.

However thank you for the detailed reply i will order all of these things and hope for the best trying them all.

It's been going on for a lot longer than 2 years. I have Commander Pro's (Co-Pro) and Lighting Node Pro's (LNP) in 2 different Intel rigs - X99 and Z370. If I plugged a LNP into a USB port on a Co-Pro I had constant disconnects. I put NZXT hubs in both rigs and all of my Corsair USB problems went away. So in my case, adding an NZXT hub worked. Corsair USB problems are not limited to AMD builds, although Corsair does like to blame AMD for any USB problems.

Just wanna comment that I don't have any problems with my H150i Elite LCD.
    So if I can help...

    Firmware:  2.10.219

    Firmware LCD: 1.1.7.7

    iCue: 4.23.137

    My setup:

    Windows 11 Pro Beta Insider
MB: AsRock B550 Taichi Razer Edition
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600 CL16 (2x16)
    GPU: NVIDIA 3090 FE
CASE: LIANLI O11 Dynamic Razer Edition
    AIO: Corsair H150i ELITE LCD
    PSU: Corsair HX1000i
FANS: 9x Corsair QL120 (using a Commander Pro and a Lighting Node Core)

Wow! I think this is the first post I have seen in any of the Elite LCD threads from someone reporting that theirs actually works properly. Congrats. Hopefully, it will continue to do so.

  14. A little advice - Don't be surprised if you have USB problems with the Commander Core XT being plugged into one of the USB ports on the Commander Pro. I have Commander Pro's in 2 different Intel systems (X99 and Z370) and plugged Lighting Node Pro's into the USB ports on the Commander Pro's. This resulted in constant USB problems - freezes and connect/disconnect issues. I put in NZXT USB2.0 hubs and all of the USB problems went away. Corsair likes to blame USB problems on AMD, but since I had problems in 2 Intel systems, their excuse does not apply. People have been posting about Commander Pro USB problems for YEARS and Corsair still has not addressed them other than to try to pass the blame onto other manufacturers.

Your system may be working fine and hopefully you will not encounter USB problems. If you do, try not plugging anything into the USB ports on the Commander Pro. Put in an NZXT or Aquacomputer Hubby7 internal USB2.0 hub and plug the Commander Pro XT into the hub. There is a very good chance that this will resolve  the USB problems.

I really hope that Support is doing somthing right now, because it not funny at all.

This whole saga is pathetic. 15 pages on this thread and 20 pages on the Other Thread. And in the New Products thread, someone asked if they are going to release a version for custom loops!! Wouldn't it be great to have to tear your custom loop apart over and over again while Corsair tries to get their display to work?

I hope that Corsair at least stops selling these things to people and developing new variants until they can get them to work reliably. Seriously, the product is obviously defective. Corsair should stop shipping these products and send an alert to distributors telling them to pull them off the shelf to prevent more people from walking into this nightmare!!

  16. Just checked into the Corsair forum after a few weeks to see how this all worked out. WOW!

What a pathetic joke! Corsair has obviously lost control of this issue (not that they ever seem to have had it under control). Issuing a firmware update that causes the display to whack out, then pulling the update and asking everyone to go back to the last version that also doesn't work. Doing RMA's and sending out replacements with the same problems, if they respond to tickets at all. It's like watching the 3 stooges. Have you guys figured out yet that the Corsair devs have no idea what they are doing?

  17. On 3/22/2022 at 8:36 AM, DevBiker said:

So you've never, ever, ever had a bug slip out that was completely missed? Or misidentified? In 30 years of testing, never?

I highly, highly, highly doubt that. That really stretches believability. Even Microsoft, who probably has the most thorough testing regime in the industry, has missed major bugs. And I can guarantee that it wasn't because of budget cuts (they have a 1:1 test/dev ratio).

It's a bug. It happens. They are working in fixing it and getting it out. Or do you want them to shortcut QA to get a half-baked fix into your hands? Then you can REALLY be their beta testers.

I agree that bugs sometimes get out despite the best efforts to avoid this happening, but some of these Corsair "bugs" have existed for months, and in some cases YEARS. I had had issues with the USB pass through ports on my Commander Pro's since the Corsair Link days. I don't even try to use them anymore, and these are in Intel systems, so no it is not an AMD USB problem.

The Corsair Elite Capellix pump noise issue and some of the claims Corsair has made about lowering the RPM range in firmware are just ridiculous. I asked how Corsair did their noise measurements - what measurement device, calibration record of measurement device, at what distance from the pump, with fans running or not, anechoic chamber ?, etc. The response I got back was that the Corsair guy had one running on an benchtop open frame system and he could not hear the pump so it must be OK, followed by the claims that lowering the pump speed would increase the noise level (nonsense) and that the pump would not overcome loop resistance at lower RPM (also nonsense). The impression I got is that Corsair has no idea how to properly measure noise emissions from the pump and just made something up for the specs.

When they announced the new H170i Elite Capellix cooler, I asked if this new product was using the same pump with the same firmware limitations that were a huge issue at that time. I got back a BS response that pumps should not emit a high frequency whine (duh!) and if mine does to open a ticket. When I responded that this was a cop out they just ignored me.

Then there is the whole let's drop support for a whole list of our own products that are still available in distribution channels and still under warranty, and prompt people to update iCue without any warning that they have devices connected that will no longer communicate with iCue after they update. Then they update firmware on newer devices so they are no longer compatible with the old version of iCue. Customers are left with a mix of Corsair products that can only run on old versions of iCue and products that can only run on new versions of iCue. This whole saga is just embarrassing

Every time I come check this forum I see the same long threads full of problems with the same old Corsair products, and new Corsair products, and the same dance routine from Corsair. Don't get me wrong. I wish that iCue was not a bloated, buggy mess, and I really wanted to buy a Corsair Elite Capellix AIO for my new Ryzen rig. Luckily for me, I checked this forum first and decided that the Elite Capellix AIO cooler was a headache I did not need.

I have moved on from Corsair and it makes me sad to see people who were dazzled by the marketing that are now spending hours, days, and weeks fighting with their new (and old) Corsair devices and getting the same run around from Corsair. "Open a ticket - we will send you a replacement with the same exact problem.", and Stand by - a fix is "coming soon".

If Corsair ever gets their act together, and I can check this forum and not find threads that are 19 pages long reporting the same problems over and over again, I will again consider purchasing their products. That has not happened yet. In fact, it has gotten worse. I am not willing to give Corsair my hard earned money only to end up spending weeks troubleshooting, scouring forum posts, and dealing with returns. I will just go buy something else. This is what I did last time around and when I read these threads, I am very glad that I did.

  18. Every few months I check into this forum and see that the LCD display issues, the noisy Elite pump issues, QL series fan LED's failing issues, and the ever present list of Corsair iCue and USB problems are STILL not resolved, I thank myself for checking these forums before I made purchase decisions for my latest build. It's sad to see so many people that haven't figured out the sad truth about Corsair yet. Good luck you guys!

  19. I have Commander Pro's in an Intel X99 build and a Z370 build. I tried to connect 2 Lighting Nodes Cores using the USB passthrough ports on the Commander Pros. Both of them had constant USB connection problems. I put in NZXT hubs in both of them and plugged the Lighting Node Cores into them. No problems since. Corsair likes to blame AMD for their (Corsair's) USB problems. I don't buy this excuse since both of my Intel systems had issues with Commander Pro USB ports.

We appreciate those of you that have sent your units in for further testing to help better understand the adverse noise that all of you are reporting.  Despite what some of you believe, our testing of these sample units provided by the community has been extremely extensive.  Our evaluation of the feedback all of you have reported regarding noise levels is still ongoing, however all units provided by the community have tested to be within spec.  At this time, we are recommending that anyone experiencing noise levels that you feel are excessive, please submit a ticket through our support site so that we can begin the RMA process:

    https://support.corsair.com/

Thank you for posting this. I am hoping that you can clarify some details about the noise specs for these pumps.

Can you clarify how you determined that the units that were sent in are "within spec", and what is the spec that they are within?

On your website, under "Tech Specs" for the H100i Elite LCD and H150i Elite LCD the noise spec says 10 - 30.4dBA. For the H170i Elite LCD it says 10 - 31.8dBA. The Elite Capellix versions (no LCD) all say 10 - 37dBA except the H115i Elite Capellix which says 10 - 36dBA.

Are these the specs? If yes, is there any more detail available like:

How far away from the pump was the measurement device was placed when these noise levels were measured?

Was the pump installed or sitting on a table?

Was it in an anechoic chamber?

Are these noise specs just for the pump or for the pump and fans?

Were the fans installed and running when the measurements were taken? If yes, at what speed?

What is the measurement device and was calibration verified?

Does Corsair even know how to properly measure noise for a device like this?

Why would the noise spec be different for the H170i Elite LCD verses the other 2 Elite LCD models? Don't they all use the exact same pump?

Same question for the Elite Capellix series. Why is the H115i Elite Capellix noise spec different than the other Elite Capellix variants?

Why are the Elite Capellix noise specs different than the Elite LCD noise specs? 30.4dBA is a lot quieter than 37dBA. 6.6dB is slightly over twice as loud.

Does this mean that the Elite Capellix pumps can be over twice as loud as an Elite LCD pump and still be within spec?

Is this huge difference in max noise level due to the LCD pump cover verses the Corsair sailboat pump cover?

A max noise level difference of over 6dB between these products is considered acceptable and within spec?
