LukeeVassallo
Hi, I am curently thinking to buy the corsair Dominator Platinum gb 2133mhz [ CMD8GX3M2A2133C9 ] for my asus Maximus V Formula ? Would that be the a good choice or is there any other Ram Modules which work better with this motherboard ? Thanks in advance :)
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 24, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 24, 2012 There are plenty of options for your board. The question is, what will you be doing, and is 8GB enough?
LukeeVassallo
I think 8gb will be enough because i will be using te pcfor everyday use, dvd ripping, and gaming ... I am still going for 16 but I wanted to be sure if that type of memory is 100% compatibile with the motherboard. I checked the quailified memory modules from asus's website but these didn't show up. Thanks :)
peanutz94
They would in fact be compatible. ASUS is painfully slow to update their QVL if at all once they have done their initial testing. Just keep in mind that the actual frequency you will achieve will be highly dependent on your CPU's memory controller. There is always the possibility that your CPU will not overclock to 2133mhz.
