dave4mame
Hi! I've recently upgraded my pc from the scratch. I've purchased a 2x4gb memory 1600 Mhz memory kit (part number CMX8GX3M2A1600C9. the memory run flawlessy, but the bios/uefi recognized them as 1066 MHZ. can you confirm that that is the speed the ram is running at (at the present i've a celeron G530 cpu) and not the actual speed? thanks! Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 13, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 13, 2012 The speed at which the memory will run at will be determined by the CPU and CPU/FSB, most Celeron's will have to run the memory at DDr1066 and in order to run higher than this would need to be over clocked. dave4mame
thanks for the quick answer. btw i don't think i will oc the system... i think i'll purchase a faster cpu when the prices drop. i simply wanted to be sure that when i'll do it the ram will run at "full speed" :)
