bernd brechbart
hi, my ssd is working just fine most of the time, but every fourth or fifth boot the system can't find the disk and i have to reboot, sometimes twice until it works again. when i start the mainboard's disk config tool, the ssd entry is missing at first and pops in after a few seconds. also i've noticed that the disk's serial no has some strange symbols in it at the end (see screenshot). all this started when i reinstalled my os to the ssd (it was previously used as a data disk, with os on raid). smart status seems normal. any thoughts? thanks, bb screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/VfN8U.jpg

bernd brechbart
took me some time but i finally got around to update my mainboard's bios. looking good, the strange symbols are gone and the first boot was successful. does it make sense to update the ssd's firmware as well? in any case, thanks for your reply.. Toasted
If you are not experiencing any issues or problems with the SSD, then a Firmware update is not needed.
bernd brechbart
ok then i'll leave it as it is. i downloaded the firmware utility though, and it shows that my drive has firmware rev 2.0. so i guess i already have the latest version anyways.
