Mehdi85
Hello I just finished my build and I thought I should post it for you guys and see what you think. I'm using the PC for 3D content creation and Animation and gaming rarely. I just need to buy a ******** Quadro 4000 2TB later when I save some money for it. I updated my pc spec on my profile so I won't be bothering writing down here as well. I had to wait few days for everything to arrive so I can finally start my build. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/1.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/2.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/3.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/4.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/5.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/6.jpg I stripped the case completely to do some very simple and quick mod. I changed the 200mm fan to two 120mm Red LED fans. Phobya are amazing case fan with 1500 rpm, 57.22 CFM and 25 dB I putt 8 of them in 600T and they are very quiet. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/7.jpg Drilled the holes and did some cutting with Dremel. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/8.jpg Adding another 120mm fan for intake on bottom of the case. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/9.jpg Bottom of the case with fans installed. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/10.jpg I also changed the black 120m corsair exhaust fan and changed the top 200mm to two 120mm. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/11.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/12.jpg Added a fan filter on bottom of the case. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/13.jpg Corsair 1050 plenty of power for future upgrade I think. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/14.jpg Scythe Kaze Master Single 5.25 Bay Fan Controller http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/15.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/16.jpg Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7-B3, Intel Z68 http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/17.jpg I didn't take any more picture till everything was all installed, it was getting late and I wanted to finish the build quickly. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/18.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/19.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/20.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/21.jpg H100 with 4 Cougar Vortex PWM CF-V12HP push-pull, very very quiet fans. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/22.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/23.jpg White cable sleeving would have been nice, maybe in future I will change it. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/24.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/25.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/26.jpg As far as overcooking and benchmarking with university (BA Animation last year) and work, I can't see it happening for a while. I'm interested to see what you guys think of my build so do leave a comment and thanks.
bobn
Your build is amazing, H100 on the door and floor fan are noteworthy. Is the H 100 blowing hot exhaust in or out of the case? Please post on temps when you get a chance.
Mehdi85
Thermal Paste: Coollaboratory Liquid Pro Keep in mind room temperature is quite high cause of weather (26-27°C) On stock clock 3.7 Ghz average : 27°C Load : 49.5 °C Haven't over clocked it yet, I''ll post update when I do. bobn
An overclock should tell the story , quite alot of fans, are you actually building a Quadro workstation . I do like the front setup with 2 120mm fans and one in the floor. Seems like quite a few cases have that setup. I wonder about the H100 in the door , rear fan placement looks good. Since you first posted I've been looking at case fans and the phobya fans you choose have good specs, very reasonably priced compared to comparable performing fans and good reviews. I never heard of phobya so a check showed it is a German company. Where are the fans manufactured ? I think Phobya doesn't actually make anything but sells the brand name to companies. I could be wrong , do you know what company manufactures the fans? In any case they appear to be darn good fans and was looking for info before buying a bunch. Mehdi85
yes a temporary workstation, was planning to build a Dual Xeon workstation with EVGA SR-2 but since the next generation Xeon processors is only 6 months away I putt this one together so I can give to my partner when SR-3 gets released. Since she does photography it should plenty of horse power in this workstation for her and for the time being it does do my job fairly quick anyway. I have overclocked the cpu to 4568 on load with reasonable temperature 55°C Idle is always between 20-22°C now that room temperature is not that high any more. I'm very pleased with the temperatures that I'm getting, I could push it to 5 Ghz but to be honest don't see the benefit of that few extra hounder mhz. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/OC_01.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j355/Mehdi85/OC_02.jpg I don't know who and where the manufacture is based but I could tell you my product experience, they are fantastic with Airflow: 97,20m³/h / 57,22 CFM and Noise emission: 25 dB(A) they move loads of air yet very quite, I would personally recommend it. bobn
Thanks for the info and enjoy your system. A 660T with an h100 on the door quite innovative. That fan also comes in a blue version.
weaseled386
This is a nice rig! I've never even thought about putting the H100 on the side like that. IMO, very tastefully built. +1 interwebs to you!!

Phoenixz
Amazing job! I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but, with the coolers on the side door (without the radiator), would a nh-d14 fit? Thank you :)

jewie27
I would hate to have to open the case up with all those cables hanging everywhere. The cable management needs some work to be honest.
Wired
I would hate to have to open the case up with all those cables hanging everywhere. The cable management needs some work to be honest. All of those hanging cables appear to be attached to the door. Not much you can do with those.
