CondorLegend
Hello, this is my first ssd. I have some random freeze with this ssd, some days yes, some not. My specs: Asus crosshair formula V (990fx sb950, bios 0506) Amd 1090t 120gb force gt (fw 1.2) AHCI Enabled, Hot plug enabled, LPC fix registry applied, latest ahci and sb AMD driver installed. When the system freezes i see the orange steady led light on my motherboard that indicates I/O operation on my drive for about 30 sec. After the system reboot my ssd is not recognized and i must power off. What can i do? Thanks.
Yellowbeard
Look in the SSD firmware update section and update to the 1.3 firmware. Please read the .PDF file carefully.
xavion
I have the same problem, updated to 1.3, but the computer still freezes a couple of times a day. It will resume to normal after a few minutes. (No reboot required)

Yellowbeard
FATAL_ERROR: Firmware download failed with error: (ECode 00000057) :(: Still error with MS ahci driver Did you try the AMD driver?
CondorLegend
Did you try the AMD driver? Of course, i wrote it on first post :D:
Yellowbeard
Then you have 2 options as noted in the PDF. You can try to find an alternate machine on which to flash the drive. If you can't get it done, RMA the drive and we'll take care of it.
CondorLegend
Updated fw to 1.3 and for about first week no freeze... now it returned to give me freeze with no reason. The LPM fix registry is the same for AMD driver? I made a clean install (the windows 7 format and install) when i bought and mounted it (it was 1.2 fw) and a clear cmos when i updated it to 1.3fw
scorpionri
The LPM fix affects an iaStor registry node. AFAIK that is linked to the Intel IRST drivers, so I don't think that would be usefull for an AMD system.

scorpionri
If you have the time, please try something: 1. Remove the power from the GT 2. Clear the CMOS ( remove the power cord while doing that ) 3. Re-do your CMOS settings 4. Attach your drive ( by now it should have been more than 1 min without power ) 5. Boot into Windows & "uninstall" the GT ( right click on it from the Device Manager and select Uninstall ) 6. Reboot Win and let it re-detect the GT 7. Do a WEI run ( Windows Experience Index ) 8. Reboot & test
Banwell
Cheers for the above guide might give that a go - but I know for sure that when I did my bios /firmware/ CMOS clear last time the drive was redetected by the OS. But it can't hurt to try again.
chivalryx
Try disabling TRIM. It helped me. Instructions at the link below: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=86403 Chiv.
CondorLegend
Try disabling TRIM. It helped me. Instructions at the link below: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=86403 Chiv. I have no intention to private SSD functions to get it to work. If it is defective must be replaced. I therefore ask Corsair - The LPM fix also applies to AMD drivers? - What are the steps I must follow to determine if the ssd is bugged or not? (please read the first post and don't give me a default answer) thanks

Yellowbeard
LPM applies only to Intel. If you are having issues with your SSD after flashing to the 1.3 firmware, and you have tried ALL of the troubleshooting tips in the .PDF, RMA the drive and we'll replace it. Also, I made a clean install (the windows 7 format and install) when i bought and mounted it (it was 1.2 fw) and a clear cmos when i updated it to 1.3fw You need to clear the CMOS AFTER the update to 1.3 if you did not do so. scorpionri
I noticed that you mentioned in one post that you tried to update the FW with MsAHCI instead of the AMD SATA drivers, but did you also try to test the system with MsAHCI and still had problems ? If you can, try reverting to MsAHCI and do this registry "hack" ( it has helped some users from a different manufacturer of SandForce 2k SSDs ) - if your drive is connected to another SATA channel then just change the reg as required: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci\Controller0] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci\Controller0\Channel0] "TreatAsInternalPort"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci\Controller0\Channel1] "TreatAsInternalPort"=dword:00000001
