FuriousK
Hi, I just bought 4gb more RAM for my old computer, the timings are diffrent on the new (5-5-5-18) and old RAM (5-5-5-12). I assumed that i should change to the latest one (5-5-5-18). Is that ok? Since I really am not too schooled about RAM memory I have no idea. And when I tryed to set my DRAM settings to 800mhz in bios i only got 560mhz new RAM speed. CPU Speed 1632.0 MHz (orginal: 2400 MHz) CPU multiplier 6x CPU FSB 272.0 MHz (orginal: 266 MHz, overclock: 2%) Memorybuss 408.0 MHz DRAM:FSB ratio 12:8 (From EVEREST Ultimate) I should get 800MHz right? And the diffrence in timings is not a problem? Thanks in advance Anthony
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 5, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 5, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
