kurth54
I installed a X128 on Win7... on a Thinkpad T61. (NO SATA II Speeds as many know). I loaded using AHCI mode, I was getting close to theoretical SATAI speeds....around 115 MB/s or so for read/write. After loading all my programs I slowed down to ~90 MB/s according to HD Tune. Then I had some problems and bluescreened. Long story short, I changed to "compatibility mode" in teh BIOS and am now running close to theoretical SATAI speeds of ~125 MB/s or so. I've switched back and forth and used different programs to verify speed. What gives? How can this be? Compatibiity mode outperforms AHCI mode (using all latest Intel drivers also....)? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 15, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 15, 2009 What gives? How can this be? That would suggest a driver or maybe BIOS issue with the system, I would just use compatibility mode for the time being.
