pcwolff
So I'm looking at ordering a new computer build and I've got my eye on the 850HX as my PSU. The case I'm also looking at (Lian-li PC-P50) has ventalation on the bottom of the case so your PSU fan can intake cold air from beneath the case. Would it be a good idea to do that with the 850HX even though the fan is on the "top"? Or will it not really make a difference? Thanks!
nightmare devil
It would definately make sense, especially if you install a graphics card into the lower slot if you've got several on your mainboard, so the psu can suck out the hot air
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 8, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 8, 2009 You can certainly amount the PSU upside down. But I personally wouldn't do it for a few reasons: 1. risk of accidentally dropping screws into the PSU 2. PSU would have cool air flow from the bottom vent. you shouldn't need to worry about the heat from your video card if you have good airflow in your case. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 11, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 11, 2010 Fan facing down is the normal way to install it. With the fan facing up, it would be upside down.
