fismit
This system seems to be very stable when ram is set to auto in the BIOS. However, when BIOS is set to XMP the system will reboot when heavily loaded. Prime95 will cause the machine to reboot within a minute of starting a test. My CPU temperatures seem to be pretty decent. Memtest86+ is able to make 2 complete passes without errors (at 1600). The PSU is a Corsair 750 watt. The CPU is i7 920 at stock speeds. I have the most recent BIOS 0603. BIOS settings are mostly default. I'm hoping that someone can help me get this machine stable when the ram is at 1600.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 9, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 9, 2009 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS then load setup defaults and set the memory Voltage to 1.65 Volts and then enable XMP to profile one and see what the QPI Voltage is set to and increase it to 1.6 Volts and then run http://www.memtest.org on the system and see if it is more stable.
