deurges Posted May 22, 2009 Share Posted May 22, 2009 Hi! I am getting frustrated here. I have the above mentioned board and have 2x TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF (aka 8gb). The Asus QVL states that this board will run with all modules ok, but I cannot get it to even boot. I have tried 2 other board aswell, P5k-e and DFI lanparty dk. These two can run with one set at full speed no problem, and the p5q pro turbo cannot. All boards fail with a 8gb config - thousands of errors with memtest 86++ 2.11. I have tried mem volt 2.1 and NB up to 1.3. The P5q seems to have trouble running even on ddr 800. So, how on earth can one be able to run 8gb at 1066mhz? AND is there known problems with the Asus P5Q pro turbo and Dominator 1066mhz ram? Deurges Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Yellowbeard Posted May 22, 2009 Share Posted May 22, 2009 On ASUS boards you must disable Legacy USB Support as Memtest conflicts with this setting. As for 4GB vs 8GB, this is due to the load of 4 modules on the memory controller. You may not be able to run 1066 with 4 modules. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
