wilsoncm80
I put in a TX 650 over the weekend, and while everything seems to run fine I've noticed the temperatures are a lot higher than with my previous PSU. In particular, the motherboard temp is way higher than it should be. I previously had a 500 watt Rosewill PSU. I only replaced it because I wanted something a little more up to date as far as connections, etc. I had no problem with it otherwise. Any suggestions, info is appreciated! Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 26, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 26, 2009 I am betting that the Rosewill fan spun a lot faster than ours in most circumstances and that probably helped circulate the air a little better. Our PSU fan will only begin to ramp up once you have about 50% loading on the unit. The fan is designed to keep our PSU temps low, along with a low noise level, so it will not spin up to speed unless it really needs too. I would add a case fan and see if it brings the temps back down.
