Rampage Extreme and TWIN3X4096-1600C7DHX

I'm running a Rampage Extreme, Q9650 and 8 Gb (2 * TWIN3X4096-1600C7DHX) at 4,43 Ghz (FSB 490). DRAM speed 1643 Mhz.

The problem I'm having is that the BIOS recognizes the memory at a 9-9-9-24 speed only. When I set the 7-7-7-20 manually the system becomes very unstable. I've already tried replacing 1 set of DRAM, no result. Also when running only 2 sticks I get the same result.

What can you recommend to get the faster timings and will I indeed notice an improvement if (when ;-) I get it to work?

I have this same board and it is VERY problematic. It's not the DRAM, it's the chipset. You are attempting to run 4 X 2048 with 1600Mhz? Good luck! I couldn't.

I have found full stability with 4.0Ghz and 1500Mhz on the DRAM with 7-6-6-16 1T. I needed quite a bit of tweaking. W Please read this thread. There are a lot of people with Quad Cores who are not impressed with paying 500.00 for a board with these issues.
