viperdlc
Good morning everyone, could anyone please help us? My wife and I are building a computer for the first time. We originally purchased 2 GB of ram. After reading what other pc builders were putting in their machines, we decided to purchase another 2 GB of ram. The first 2GB we purchased have a different voltage and version number than the second 2GB we purchased. We'd like to know if these are compatable and will work together as 4 GB. This is the type of memory we purchased: 1st set purchased: Corsair Dominator DDR2 PC2-8500 C5D 2.10v version 2.2 2nd set purchased: Corsair Dominator DDR2 PC2-8500 C5D 2.2v version 4.1 We still have time to return the second set purchased, if needed. We would really appreciate any help or information. Thank you very much. Viperdlc
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 20, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 20, 2008 The MB and CPU you have will be the biggest factor, but with 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 or DDR800 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH Voltage to +.05 Volts and they should run with out problems.
