ryanuwlax
My motherboard (Asus M2A-VM) recommends ram with a latency of 4 or timing 4-4-4-12. The ram I have has a latency of 5 or timing 5-5-5-12. Could this difference cause my computer to freeze or lock up? Asus recommended model = CM2X1024-6400C4 My ram model = TWIN2X2048-6400 Thanks, Ryan
bigbuck08
You running with looser timings so it shouldnt. Have you tested the RAM with Memtest? How to Use Memtest
ryanuwlax
The BIOS will not allow me to change any of the ram settings except the voltage. If the BOIS is automatically setting the timing, could it be setting the wrong timing and create this issue? I am going to download Memtest tonight and try it. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 22, 2008 Just leave the timings at auto, the modules you have are tested at Cas 5-5-5-12.
