ArmaGamer
Hy, I have bought for 3 weeks a completely new PC with Corsair XMS2 KIT 4096 MB PC2-6400U DDR2-800 CL5 DHX. I have downloaded the program Memtest86 and wanted to test my 2 memories of Corsair, because I have recently received 2 strange error messages from Armed Assault Game. And now and again the system hang up during iam playing games. However, it seems seldom. 1: Cannot create system Memory Surface DXT5,1024x1024 (size1400832 B) Error Code8007000e 2: Cannot create system Memory Surface DXT5,2048x2048 (size5595136 B) Error Code8007000e Therefore, I have inserted the Memtest CD or disk and have started, but after few seconds after the program start the picture gets stuck and freezes. I have likewise already tested both memory modules individually and in the other slots, only with the success that with only one memory module (2 GB) the program any more does not freeze instead a new start caused. Something wrong configurated? Following a few pic´s, that i could made: http://bestplacetobe.gmxhome.de/error/420.jpg http://bestplacetobe.gmxhome.de/error/421.jpg http://bestplacetobe.gmxhome.de/error/422.jpg http://bestplacetobe.gmxhome.de/error/423.jpg http://bestplacetobe.gmxhome.de/error/424.jpg Tonight I will download the Memtest86+ and test what happen and after that i post it here. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 3, 2008 With that MB you have to Disable legacy USB when running any memory test, and you need to be using http://www.memtest.org. In addition, you cannot run all 10 tests on that platform or it will do strange things and not give reliable results, that is in the read me file for Memtest. Just use the defaults tests. Please make sure that you have the latest Bios version and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 1.9 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, Cas 5-5-5-18, 2t Command Rate, and TRC 24 and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
