alexankius
(I've also posted on compatability) I 've got a pair of 8500C5D and i can't get them to work anywhere near their rated speed on an Asus P5WDG2 Pro. I've tried other memory that works fine. I'm doing nothing fancy, my settings are: fsb@ 266 (stock) multiplier 10 (stock) ram 1066 volt @ 2.2 What is the general procedure to rma?? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 25, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 25, 2007 I am sorry but that MB will not support 1066 FSB on the memory with over clocking the CPU and Chipset and then it will top out about 930-1030 MHz. Sorry but just the limit of that MB.
alexankius
Listen, I am NOT trying to run the memory, not even close to 1066. At the minute with the below configuration it does not go more than 1 hour on memtest, the configuration being: Everything default (i.e. 266 x 10, stock volt, etc) and Ram @ 800 Mhz (as you indicated) Timings set as automatic (and at that they are very loose, i.e. 6-6-6-15-6-22) volt: 2.2 Now, if you find the above completely inline then i'm probably not thinking right, but is this the case? (btw the mobo is stable at 1066mhz with other memory) Please let me know what you think, Alex
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 26, 2007 They will not run at Cas 6 at that speed. Please get the latest BIOS for your MB and then load setup defaults and then set these settings: Dim/DDRVoltage: 2.1 Volts Memory Timings: Manual/User Define SDRAM CAS Latency: 4T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 12T Legacy USB Support Disabled: Then test with http://www.memtest.org and see if it is stable.
