cameramonkey
I am interested in upgrading to an MSI K8T800 K8T Neo-FIS2R with an Athlon64 3200+. I currently have 2 sticks of CMX512-3200C2 in my P4 system. I was wondering if I could use this without any problems in the MSI. I saw this thread about running it in single channel an the motherboard: http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21962&highlight=CMX512-3200c2+K8T+Neo-FIS2R But I was wondering if 2 sticks of CMX512-3200C2 would be a problem. Thanks in advance.

cameramonkey
Thanks. I saw that already when I 1st visited MSI's web site. I was just hoping that the RAM that I already had would work. I really don't want to have to buy more.
paladin1369
I have the same MB and CMX512-3200C2 REV 1.1 and it works fine, but i heard someone with REV 1.2 did not work with 2 sticks of ram. Which rev do you have.
cameramonkey
Ok, I just checked my modules. One is version CMX512-3200C2 REV 1.1 and the other is version CMX512-3200C2 REV 2.2. They work fine in my present motherboard (P4P800 Deluxe). So am i totally out of luck for the MSI?
danrok
Corsair's document "MSI-1203.pdf" only lists the TWINX 3200 as recommended for the MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R, not the CMX. Exactly what they mean by 'recommended' I don't know.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 1, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 1, 2004 You should be able to use these two in that MB, but you should install them in slots 1-3 and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volta and please try setting the timings to what’s suggested for 2 single XMS3200C2 modules, or Cass 2.5-3-3-7. Also, please make sure that you have the latest bios from MSI as well.
cameramonkey
Thanks Ram Guy. Can I tade my RAM in for 2 new sticks if it doesn't work on this motherboard? ;): I know I can't, just wishful thinking.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 1, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 1, 2004 LOL! Well let us see if there is a problem first, then if we can’t make it work with what you have we can make a determination as to what would be the best corrective action. However, I have faith it will work.
