MaxGeek
I'm having trouble getting 4 sticks of Dominator PC8500's running at 1066 on an Asus P5K Deluxe. (2 sets of 2x1GB) I'm running the default timings 5-5-5-15. I've upped the NB voltage to 1.4v and termination voltage to 1.4v. I also upped the memory voltage to 2.3v. The ram is also being cooled by a antec spot cool fan. Oh and transaction booster is off. However I'm still getting errors in memtest and orthos memory stress test. Vista can also be a bit more unstable. Heres a pic of my memtest errors Memtest errors Also I was previously running 4x1GB fine at 1066mhz stock volts/timings when one stick completely died after a month. I RMA'd that pair, but haven't been able to get it working since.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 4, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 4, 2007 With that CPU you would need to run the memory at DDR533 sorry!
MaxGeek
Why? The memory controller is on the motherboard and I'm overclocking the CPU . For the test I was running 333x9 for 3.0GHZ and 1066 ram. I have no issues running 2x1GB @ up to 1200mhz, but 4x1GB setup is giving me issues. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 4, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 4, 2007 Try and lower the memory frequency and link it then over clock the CPU. When you have all of the slots filled with memory your over clocking will be more limited because of loading on the memory controller.
MaxGeek
Sorry what do you mean by link it? I know the 680i can do linked and unlinked, but I'm not sure the P35 has an option for this or if its named something funny.
