chris-g
I recently purchased a set of Twin2x2048-6400. I'm running an Asus P5B deluxe with the 0804 bios. If I leave all my bios settings on auto Stick 1 will post, memtest shows no errors and I can boot and use Windows Xp with no problem. If I swap out stick 1 and put in stick 2 my pc fails to post. When I change my bios settings to : AI tuning manual, Cpu frequency 200mhz, Dram frequency 800mhz, PCI express freq auto, PCI freq 33.33 stick 2 still fails to post. Anything else I can try or do I need to get a new stick of ram?
Elof Valantor
I have the same RAM and have the same problem. One good stick, one bad. I have the EVGA nForce 680i and can't post with one stick. I get a long beep and the mobo shows C1 on the display (Memory Presence). Other stick works fine at the mobo default of 1.9V and at 2.1V (after bios changed)

chris-g
Since it's a matched memory pair is it best to get both replaced or is it ok to just replace the bad stick?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 10, 2007 Yes GET THEM replaced as a set, if you have a Twinx set you should submit the RMA for one Twinx set and get them replaced together. Even if you have two single modules you should get them both replaced and ask if they get a matched set.
