Thanks ram guy!

everything is running fast and stable now! I am going to upgrade to a 2gb twinx2048-3200c2 kit next, is that the best ram kit for my board?and do you suggest the same timings for this on my board?

thanks again...............

I just built a very similar system yesterday:

Asus A8N-E mobo

AMD Athlon64 3700+ (San Diego core)

2 x TwinX1024-3200C2 pairs (2 GB total)

Antec Truepower 2.0 480W PS

I have to admit being rather stunned by the default (automatic) DRAM timings set up on the first boot, considering these modules are advertised PC3200 DIMMs with 2-3-3-6 timings. I set them manually to 2-3-3-6 in the BIOS and fired it right up, but haven't been overly impressed. Of course, I had no idea what the other BIOS timing parms were, so I left them at default. (I will be trying out your suggestions shortly)

I ran CPU-Z to look at the SPD tables on the modules...can you explain why they're setup for 3-3-3-8 @ 200MHz, 2.5-3-3-7 @ 166MHz, and 2-2-2-6 @ 133MHz?

Don't get me wrong...I'm not complaining, as they seem to be running 2-3-3-6 @ 200MHz just fine in this machine. I'm just curious about the SPD tables.
