Conor
I bought 2 stick box of corsair 1-gig memory along with a 120 gigabyte Seagate Harddrive. I put in the harddrive and the memory, and it appeared to work fine. I installed windows 98 on it, and the software could not detect the memory at all. I pulled out the memory and put in an older Kingston 512 stick, and it worked properly. I continued on and installed windows xp. after that, I reinstalled the 2 sticks, but the computer would not boot properly.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 27, 2006 Windows 98 will not run with more than 512 meg of memory! Can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
