Allan J
What are the best timings for CMX512-4000 DDR-RAM? I have an Epox 4pea+ motherboard and it seems that the RAM timings (3-4-4-8) that is recommended is not supported by the motherboard. My question then is: How should I set these timings parameters when not supported by the motherboard and how do I get the best performance with this RAM? My computer has the following settings/Data Model: Epox Computer Co Ltd 82845PE Brookdale Host-Hub Interface Bridge (B0-step) Front Side Bus Speed : 4x 150MHz (600MHz data rate) Maximum FSB Speed / Max Memory Speed : 4x 133MHz / 2x 166MHz Width : 64-bit IO Queue Depth : 8 request(s) Logical/Chipset 1 Memory Banks Bank 2 : 256MB DDR-SDRAM 2.5-3-3-6CL 1CMD Bank 3 : 256MB DDR-SDRAM 2.5-3-3-6CL 1CMD Speed : 2x 187MHz (374MHz data rate) Multiplier : 5/4x Width : 64-bit Refresh Rate : 15.60µs Memory Module(s) Memory Module 2 : Corsair CMX512-4000 512MB 16x(32Mx8) DDR-SDRAM PC3700U-344-700 (CL3 up to 233MHz) Allan
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 3, 2004 Honestly I would suggest a newer MB based on Intel I865 or I875 Chipset but you can take a look at Twinx4000 Faq for what's supported ont he module. But our XMS4000 will not support any speed slower than DDR3200 may be why the bios is not letting you set the timings as its not defined at that speed in the SPD.
