6+2 dual pcie pin power connectors

Hello,

 

Just upgraded to the RM850 so i can run a zotac 4070ti trinity. The Trinity comes with a 3x 8-pin-to-12VHPWR cable but the rm850 only came with two daisy chain 6+2 pcie cables. Am i able to use one full cable and half the second or should i start looking for a 3rd cable?

Hey there. We recommend purchasing a 3rd cable so that each are dedicated.

Ordered one of the 600w ones this morning . Figured it was the best option.

Do you think till the cable arrives I can run the daisy chain or best not to risk it?

should be fine, Nvidia specs the 4070Ti at 285W so 2 PCIE cables are enough in theory (for the FE model). Maybe your model has a more agressive Vbios that pulls more power but it shouldn't be too far above that figure. and the PCIE slot still provide 60 - 65W on top of that.

Maybe don't overclock it, to play it safe 😉
