Pistons
Hi, I want to upgrade the GPU in my gaming setup. This setup has a Corsair RM650i. My (older) backup PC has an HX750i. Is it possible to simply switch the two PSU's and leave their original cables untouched ? In other words, are the modular cables from both PSU's the same and interchangeable ? Solution LeDoyen Posted December 25, 2022 Solution Share Posted December 25, 2022 (edited) for the most part they are the same. the RMi uses type 4 cables, and the HXi uses type 3 cables. They are all identical except the 24 pin cable going to the motherboard. you'll need to get a type 3 motherboard cable to use the HXi https://www.corsair.com/us/en/psu-cable-compatibility Edited December 25, 2022 by LeDoyen
