NMir Posted July 7, 2022 Share Posted July 7, 2022 Hello, I've an old HX850 power supply and wish to upgrade my motherboard, the new motherboard but it requires 4pin cpu power in addition to the 8pin, can I use a PCIE to 4 pin convertor to supply needed power. LeDoyen Posted July 7, 2022 Share Posted July 7, 2022 it's better to use a CPU cable.. adapters are usually a good way to smoke something 🙂 But you could just as well not add a 4 pin cable. the 8 pin one can provide over 300W already. even a 12900k doesn't need two cables.
