cjpark
I have a Soltek Qbic 3401-pro barebone (mobo is SL-B8E-FGR) with a P4 3.2C and I recently got 2x512mb 3200LLPT (XMS3205v1.1 -0319081) sticks and they won't POST at ddr400 speeds with any timings. They run fine and memtest without errors at ddr266/333 2225 but as soon as I try ddr400, no POST. Any ideas? Maybe I'm just out of luck with this ram and I'll go back to my XLPT sticks. Any help would be appreciated.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 7, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 7, 2005 If the modules will run and pass http://www.memtest.org at DDR333 at Cass 2-2-2-5 then I doubt its the modules, but you might try and set the timings manually to Cass 2-3-2-6 with the Rass to Cass set to "3" and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts and test the modules one at a time. cjpark
After some testing, it'll still pass memtest 5 with no errors at ddr333 2-2-2-5. But even with a single stick at ddr400 w/ timings 3-4-4-8 and 2.8V it won't POST in my system. When I looked up the board, it showed that it was compatible with this ram but maybe I just got unlucky. Any ideas or should I just stick with my XL?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 8, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 8, 2005 We can try replacing them if you like. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
cjpark
I think I'll give them a try in a different board later today and if that fails then I'll think about an rma, would they be replaced with the same revision or just whatever you have? Thanks.
cjpark
This ram also fails to post in an asus a7v8x-x even with a single stick. So the question is, if I rma, will I receive back ram that can do 2-2-2-5 at ddr400?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 8, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 8, 2005 XMS3200LL is no longer in production so they would be replaced with the same speed or faster according to our warranty policy. But you can ask our customer service when and if you do the RMA to see what you would get back.
