lindad
Recently installed this board and twinx-2048-3200pro matched pair. Will not post and produces BIOS memory error beep tones indicating no memory present. The Corsair site says this RAM is compatible with this board. I have tried every possible RAM configuration and even single sticks. Nothing. RAM works fine in other A64 system with ASUS A8V. RAM was purchased from Newegg but now outside their return dates. Do we need to RMA this memory and what RAM does actually work with this board??? Help!! Linda
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 29, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 29, 2005 If the modules post and run normally in another system then that would suggest something is wrong with your MSI system. Especially if you tried them one at a time: And the system will still not post. But you might try and reset the bios with just one module at a time and see if it will post! We finally traced it to a defective CPU which would post in an ASUS A*V but not the Neo4. Now boots and installs Win XP just fine. Best overclock settings for this RAM and this board? How do we get 1T. It defaults to 2T. Thanks, Ram Guy! Linda
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted May 2, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted May 2, 2005 Dim Voltage to +2.7 Volts: CAS Latency CL=3.0 Row Cycle Time tRC Bios Default Row Refresh Cyc Time tRFC Bios Default Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 3 Row to Row delay Bios Default Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 8 Row Precharge Time tRP 3 Write Recovery Time Bios Default Write to Read delay Bios Default Read to Write Delay Bios Default Refresh Period tREF Bios Default Enable 2T Timing Disabled Then test the system with http://www.memtest.org and make sure it's stable! If you have problems, I would set Enable 2T Timings to AUTO and test it again!
