leviathan1
I purchased a 1 GB TwinX memory set (2 CMX512-3200C2 CL2 XMS modules). The system randomly rebooted Windows. After a format and reinstall the same problem still existed. I ran Memtest on the system memory and it found 2 errors. I pulled the modules from the computer and it is running properly now. I have a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Rev 2. motherboard. Intel 875i chipset, and an Intel Pentium IV 3.2Ghz 478 512k L2 Cache. I currently have another set of the same TwinX XMS memory set running in the machine with no problem. What do I need to do? I've sent an e-mail to ramguy@corsairmemory.com. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 25, 2005 Please set the Dim Over Voltage Contol to +.2 Volts and test the suspect module with http://www.memtest.org and if you do still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! leviathan1
It isn't giving errors now. Thanks for the help. What has causing the problem? Do 4 modules cause some sort of undervolt effect? Too much power being pulled? Thanks, --Leviathan1
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 25, 2005 It's not uncommon to have to add a bit more voltage because of loading on the buss.
