MrKGB
I have a problem with my 2x512MB corsair twinx pc3700 on my Gigabyte k8ns ultra 939 board. (Bios ver. F5;vdimm +0.2; 3-4-4-4-8 1T) The problem is the memory won´t get above 200Mhz ? Is this a copatiblity problem ? I also tried it in singelchannel mode with one modul but i had the same problem. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 2, 2005 I would try testing them in another MB if you can, as I have not seen a Gigiabyte MB able to O.C. much past 5 ot 10 MHz for quite a while.
MrKGB
The board is able to oc with other memory (512MB infineon Pc2700 @ 210Mhz and HT at 260Mhz) so i dont think the board is the problem. I forgot the mem. is ver1.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 2, 2005 Then please set these modules like you had the other memory but set the timings at Cass 3-3-3-8!
MrKGB
With 3-3-3-8 @200Mhz the pc don´t start
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 2, 2005 Do you have another system you can use to test the modules? And what bios version is on that MB? And I was suggesting you set the memory at DDR333 like you had the other modules. If that works then that would suggest a bios/MB problem.
MrKGB
Bios is ver. F5 its the newest on gigabyte page . 166Mhz works 200Mhz works but more then 200Mhz don´t work with the corsair ram. I think it´s a compatibility problem or vdimm. but my mobo supports not more then 2.8v so I´m not able to test.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 2, 2005 If you can test the modules in another system that might help isolate the memory from your system.
Steve4Cfc
Youre memory wont go above 200mhz for the simple reason that ddr3700 you are running is not supported in our board i have the same board. Our board has no support for DDR 2.
jsteel44
Youre memory wont go above 200mhz for the simple reason that ddr3700 you are running is not supported in our board i have the same board. Our board has no support for DDR 2. DDR 2 is something totally different, not related in any way to the PC3700 hes using! DDR 2 has a different pin count and physically won't fit into a DDR 1 board.
