tennengr
Where does the SATA cable in the picture connect? Motherboard? Power Supply? Somewhere else? I was planning to purchase an MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard and could not find a SATA connector that remotely looks like what is required for the cable in the attached picture. Keep in mind that I don't have the MOBO yet and am looking at pictures from odd angles. Yes … I am frustrated at the amount of useless information on the internet for things that should really be simple! Please help. DevBiker
It connects to the power supply. You won't find that connector on your motherboard at all, just on your PSU. It'll look like this: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/ACC-Series/ACC-Color/premium-individually-sleeved-sata-cable-type-4-generation-3-config/p/CP-8920187 (But probably not sleeved). tennengr
Thank you for your help … I should have mentioned that I was pretty sure that the cable went to the power supply but the connector did not look like anything on the power supply either. From your reply, it is now clear to me that another cable is required. The additional cable is used to plug into the power supply (8 pin SATA connection on PS) and the other end of the cable connects to the Commander Pro cable. tennengr
I meant to say 6 pin SATA on power supply.
DevBiker
Your power supply should have a number of these. It's the same power connection used for hard drives (SSD and mechanical) and optical drives.
