mrosenbu
Hi all - I just built a new 8700k rig, with HD120's, an H150i pro and LED strips, and while iCUE is working, I'm getting this error on startup every single time. Thoughts on the cause? Thanks y'all Matt
David A. Lessna
I'm getting the same thing. But, it's every time the computer shuts down or reboots. If you check the time on that error you posted, I'd guess that's what you're seeing, too (your error time is around 8 at night). Here's mine from when I just rebooted my computer: Source Corsair.Service Summary Stopped working Date 8/28/2018 5:03 PM Status Report sent Description Faulting Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corsair\CORSAIR iCUE Software\Corsair.Service.exe Problem signature Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: Corsair.Service.exe Problem Signature 02: 3.6.0.19 Problem Signature 03: 5b604ab5 Problem Signature 04: System.Management Problem Signature 05: 4.7.3056.0 Problem Signature 06: 5a8e5a11 Problem Signature 07: 8a Problem Signature 08: 51 Problem Signature 09: PSZQOADHX1U5ZAHBHOHGHLDGIY4QIXHX OS Version: 10.0.17134.2.0.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 2beb Additional Information 2: 2beba6fb4680d73a8c78ca7c24ccdb46 Additional Information 3: b1f0 Additional Information 4: b1f0b380dbcd74b72a4df4e63607c2ae Extra information about the problem Bucket ID: 61e66d65c33dcdf2d3e2e242bf44509c (1432956407761883292)
DevBiker
Take a look at the solution on this thread: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=180555
David A. Lessna
I had no trouble installing iCUE. But, I took a look at the registry entry noted in that thread. Mine's already set to 1. I'm assuming Corsair.Service just isn't shutting down properly at system shutdown (it runs normally before then).

I'm not sure where to look for this event. In the event log I can only find the typical DCOM 10016 events.
DevBiker
I'm not sure where to look for this event. In the event log I can only find the typical DCOM 10016 events. The source should be .NET Runtime and it'll be either right before or right after the application crash event.
mamoel
The source should be .NET Runtime and it'll be either right before or right after the application crash event. Sorry, but I can't find a .NET runtime event. Those are screenshot from the reliability monitor, event log (application) and eventlog (system): https://imgur.com/a/3HkFI1N The problem occured around 22:10. DevBiker
Interesting ... it should have an entry from the .NET Runtime. Can you export your log files and link them here?

DevBiker
No Service Error Log. :-( Can you look in %ProgramData%\Corsair\CUE\Service Logs and see if there is a Service_Error log file in there?
mamoel
No Service Error Log. :-( Can you look in %ProgramData%\Corsair\CUE\Service Logs and see if there is a Service_Error log file in there? There is no service error log in this directory. There are only the Service_Trace.log files. I even rebooted my system to force a new entry in the reliability monitor. But there's still no error log file created in the given directory.
David A. Lessna
Same thing as mamoel: still getting the Corsair.Service "Stopped Working" error every time Windows 10 shuts down, no .NET stuff stopping around the same time anywhere that I can find (Event Viewer or Reliability Monitor), and no Service_Error logs in %ProgramData%\Corsair\CUE\Service Logs. Just Service_Trace.log files. EDIT: If it makes any difference, my Corsair hardware consists of a K65 RGB Rapid Fire keyboard and an M65 Pro RGB mouse. I only fire up iCue (version 3.6.109, but it was happening with the previous version) once in a blue moon (i.e., it's almost never running). Edited September 3, 2018 by David A. DevBiker
Unfortunately, without a stack trace or a log entry, it'll be tough to narrow this down. :( What we can tell, with certainty, is that it's related to WMI (System.Management.dll). mamoel
Sadly I have to say, that Corsair's support is very friendly, but not the most helpful in the world :sigh!: After every iCUE update I get asked, if the problems are solved now: -Update- Support:"Better now?" Me:"No. Same error." -Update- Support:"Better now?" Me:"No. Same error." -Update- Support:"Better now?" Me:"No. Same error." ...
