SuperLaser
how many GPU's can be mounted vertically? in this video [ame] [/ame] George says "some" but I haven't found many builds doing vertical GPU's and the ones I have seen only do one vertical GPU. Is it possible to mount 2 GPU's vertically on the primary motherboard slot with watercooling and still have a GPU mounted in the second motherboard slot also with watercooling? Zotty
hi bud... 2.. one on the ATX board and one on the ITX board.. but not necessarily at the same time ;). the case has 2 Vertical mount options is the better way to look at it.
Zotty
Quick update with plenty more to follow once my real life job calms down (summer = silly season) test fitting pumps/rads/drains... http://i.imgur.com/qVCvkPwl.jpg Happy with how the drain in the front of the case looks. (will also be a drain in the back) Also managed to squeeze the RGB Fan LED Hubs behind the rads against the back wall http://i.imgur.com/z0T34Hal.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9sf5v5wl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1cOuF3Fl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4e4LgDFl.jpg All Fan power and RGB connections confirmed as working and will now move to fitting the top rads/fans Edited September 5, 2019 by Zotty
Robostyle
Starting to look really good. I like how you managed to put the nodes at the back of your rad. The Corsair rads must be slimmer than the EK ones. I really would have liked to use your solution in my build
Robostyle
Oh wait, is that the top rad? The 3x 140mm? Then I can imagine that it will fit. Hmmmm, maybe I will go back to the drawing board.
Zotty
Hi bud.. its 2x480mm in the front, the sides of the rads have an indent in them. gives you around 12mm of space between that area and the back wall

I do not have as much fans like you do, and currently I only use two nodes en one copro with a 10 fan splitter.
GhostWorks
Has anyone here installed their GPU at the Vertical slots for the mini-ITX board location for the main system so that the other PCIe slots are still available for other devices like the Asus Hyper raid 16x card etc I currently have the 900D and am thinking of upgrading to 1000D Rampage Vi Extreme Asus Strix 2080 GPU Intel Optane 280Gb PCIe Asus HyperX16 Raid I'd imagine putting a GPU at that location with a Corsair HyperX GPU water cooler would look nice as closer to the window than the other option
Zotty
heres one dude http://i.imgur.com/CtUuPJ3l.jpg you would have to remove the ITX IO blanking plate though...

Thanks for the reply and the pic does help confirming, any issue with length on the PCIe riser cable been in the way of the other PCIe slots ? Good looking build by the way
Zotty
a 300mm riser would reach but i can't honestly comment about what you could get in the other PCIe slots
TheShipster
Afternoon my fellow master builders, quick query about the 1000D case itself. I'm looking at picking one up this week and throwing an x570 mobo in it but can someone share some light on how many header plugs there are for the USB 3 type A ports on the front of the case. I know theres an individual cable for the type C jacks but cant seem to find any info on the type A's.
Zotty
Hi bud... there are 2 Type A Cables running up to x 4 usb ports
TheShipster
Well that throws a spanner in the works. Was going for a Ryzen build with a ROG Strix X570E board but its only got the one usb3 type A header. Anyone been able to find a way around that? Surely you can't just use a splitter or something? If push comes to shove ill just switch it to an Intel build
Zotty
do you 'need' all 4 ports on the front?,, its the back where i need them lol
TheShipster
Unfortunately i do :sigh!: Im pretty sure I've found a solution which involves one of these PCI-E usb cards. Came across one with an internal usb header

Zone55555
Hey Zotty, can you show a closeup of how you've connected the two XR7-480 rads together in fittings? I don't have my two 480 rads yet, but I'm anticipating what I'll need in spacers between two 90-degree elbows when they do show up. I'm going soft tube, so if you've got a short bit of hard tube between that won't work for me, but in case you've got rigid fitting direct connect I'll lean on your knowledge. Thanks man.
