bad memory

Recommended Posts

I have a 256 stick of corsair xms3200 400 mhz that wont work I get boot disk failure everytime I try to boot. I have tryed different brands of memory and they seem to work fine no problems. I am using a asus a7n8x board with a amd barton 3200 processor. The model # for the memory is CMX256A-3200C2PT the numbers to the right of that are xms3202 v 1.1 0251042

Please try and load set up defaults and then set the following settings in the bios manually:

CPU Freq: 200 MHz

Memory Frequency: 100%

Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T

Then please test the module with http://www.memtest.org to make sure its stable!
