xldeane
Hi Guys, Im not one to moan but did anyone really plan this case out before it was fabricated?? No PSU shrould- Cable management (access holes) leaves a lot to be desired. Circuit board for 3.5 HD on show. Put some spacers between bay and case then HD can be fitted the correct way round. The top of the case... Whats going on ?? Am I missing something ? This case comes with a Control unit to control 6 fans. Its says on the Corsair website.. Cooling Layout: Front: 3 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm TOP: 2 x 120 /140mm Rear: 1 x 120mm The Top doesnt quite work out or do I have wrong part fitted ? Please see below. Both 120mm and 140mm fixing holes line up, but the fans arent even center to top of case ?? Why would you want them fitted off center ?
Corsair Blake
Hi Guys, No PSU shrould- Cable management (access holes) leaves a lot to be desired. Thank you for your feedback! We'll look into it for future products. Circuit board for 3.5 HD on show. Put some spacers between bay and case then HD can be fitted the correct way round. The reasoning for this was to ensure that the HDDs did not overheat. We designed it so that the cage has the best airflow. We'll see what we can do in future cases. The top of the case... Whats going on ?? Am I missing something ? This case comes with a Control unit to control 6 fans. Its says on the Corsair website.. That control unit is to control fan LIGHTING. It controls both SP120 RGB and HD120/HD140 RGB fans. The three button controller is the lighting mode, color change, and mode speed (rate of flashing / transition). This is all covered in the manual. The Top doesnt quite work out or do I have wrong part fitted ? Please see below. Both 120mm and 140mm fixing holes line up, but the fans arent even center to top of case ?? Why would you want them fitted off center ? The offset is to allow for the fans to fit and to prevent hitting memory. This has been an issue in the past with earlier generation of cases, where if you wanted to have tall ram and a radiator with fans on top, they would get in the way of each other. We fixed that by going with this positioning and allows users the freedom to do both. Yes, we understand this prevent proper alignment with the front fans, but we wanted to give our users more options and the capability to install the components they want. This was a highly requested feature for the past couple of years. If you have any other questions, comments, or concerns, let us know.
xldeane
Hi So why didnt you guys just make the case 15-20mm taller. That would have sorted all this out and the fan / memory situation...wouldnt have been a situation. Or better still, have 2 different cut outs. Similar to the fan holder configeration you have at the moment but have one for a rad to be fitted the other one with central holes for fans ?? You sell them in the shop ??? xl....out Edited September 19, 2017 by xldeane
wayneh85
I am extremely disappointed so far in this case, yes it looks gorgeous but when you start to add fans to it, then it turns into a bit of a nightmare. I bought the corsair h115i pump thinking it would fit, one fan does but the other wont as the case is too small, as said before a few more mm would not of hurt and would of rectified this problem. I am just hoping my CPU will be ok with just one fan working. As i have not had the case in use and all the film is still on the glass panels i would still consider sending the case back as I find this unsatisfactory for a case that costs 175 pounds!!!! Which is a bit pointless, considering you buy the case to show off the fans at the front. It's a real let down, hopefully they hear our feedback and make changes. Here's my experience, I was quite generous in my review: https://blog.londrigan.com/gaming-pc/crystal-series-570x-rgb/

Rad holes tapped out to 4mm to take the weight, 3mm not strong enough . Loads of room. 2 X HD 120 RGB on top (not outside though :). I also thought at first it wouldn't be a problem and had my rig planned out this way. It might have worked with a lot of force and with the tubes pressing against the top fans the whole time. Check out the pic, the part where the tubes come out of the radiator are on the same height as the top fans and the tubes are way too stiff to bend them this angle. I mean not without a lot of force on them all the time. I really wonder why it's so hard for corsair to just give you a few extra centimeters so you can install everything. I love the look of the case, but the cable managment and installation was a huge pain in the a.

Speedbreaker12
awesome! Really glad it worked for you! The tubes on the H100i are much stiffer, there is no way to bend them like so close to the connection! Maybe next time I go for fractal design too

Fans are only held in by 2 screws each, I have to take them all out again clean and fit properly :) xl....out
xldeane
But thats not the end of the story... Yesterday morning I did a quick test run on the Kelvin before I started fitting all the really expensive gear into the case....and the unit leaked from the seal around the Block/pump assembly.. I was horrified. So i called up the people I purchased it from and asked for a RMA... anyway... They dont stock the Kelvins anymore (Prob recalled because they leaked) they only stock the Celsius, so i bought one of those instead.. It wasnt until I got home and did a bit of research that I found out the Rads for the Celsius were bigger and piping was thicker.. Rig-Monkey you might well have won this bet after all. Ill update you tomorrow. Its going to be here in a few hours and ill try and fit it in. Its 8mm taller and that could make all the difference between me being a Happy XL or the whole lot going out of my workshop window... xl...out

Zotty
Morning Guys. I also mounted my rad in the front to the upper 2 fan mounts push/pull.. HD140's in the top of the case and HD120's push/pull. Fits but deffo a tight squeeze. using 120's in the top of the case would give more room thats for sure..

Oxize
Anyone from Corsair know if the new 570x Mirrorblack, have 140mm fans centered in the top holes or does it still need 120mm fans to have the fans perfectly in the middle of the holes? Since the topicstarter had problems with that.
Zotty
The Fan Location in the Mirror Black is Identical to the normal 570x buddy.. due to the nature of how the 120mm's or 140mm's mount.. the 120mm's are the better 'looking' option still. Same case... Mirror Finish ;).. and of course the VERY desirable RGB logo's
Oxize
Okay thanks. Gonna buy a 5K build soon. Gonna scrap those 140mm from the list. Most parts are Corsair and ROG :)
Zotty
Ive had both 140mm and 120mm fan's in the top of my 570x and i would advise the 120's dude :)
Truebilly
That would be like Nvidia never updating their drivers in 4 years or Asus not updating bios. People would go crazy. I wouldn't read the review of an initial purchaser of a graphics card or motherboard as the standard after four years you would think everything would be fixed. So that's my point the damn case is 4 years old. I guess that's too much to ask for spending $160 on the case
