The mobo is known to be picky about 400Mhz RAM, especially if they are bad. However, VS512MB400 has worked before on a PT800CE-A, and it will work this time if I can get a fully working Corsair in it. I am unable to exchange the RAM in store because I have sent out the UPC for a rebate. I have already tested the mobo with several other dual channel RAM sticks and it works without any Memtest errors. I have tried the VS512MB400 in an Intel 875P mobo and it ONLY works UNDERCLOCKED at 333mhz. This RAM does not work at its specifications, so can I RMA :(:. I don't need to overclock, I just need it stable and working. Soon. Thanks, RAM guy.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 10, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 10, 2005 Getting errors with both modules would suggest some other problem, I would try and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X Volts and test them one at a time. And if you still get errors, then lets try replacing them. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! Agoattamer
you will need to update bios to 11d or 11e to work with this ram. http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?DetailID=423&DetailName=BIOS&DetailDesc=PT800CE-A(1.0)&MenuID=41&LanID=0 Use awd830.exe (search for on internet) instead of winflash.exe. Bump up dram regulator in bios to +6% and all will be better.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 3, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 3, 2005 Please let us know, and if you can test the modules in another MB that may help to isolate the memory from your system.
