hoobastank68
Hi, I've been running World of Warcraft fine with my one stick of memory, but after buying the new 512 ram and with total of 1gig ram now my World of Warcraft is constantly crashing with memory dump errors etc.. I've tried many things such as updating sound/video drivers etc.. and still no help. Is there anything i can do to test this? I've tried memtest but doesnt seem like it found problems: CPU Specs Attached! Please help, Im not too good with the BIOs so I dont want to mess things up, thank you. Here's a sample of errors i get playing World of Warcraft http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?ForumName=wow-tech-support&ThreadID=80269cpuz.txt

Gorganzola
Please post the following information: The information on the stickers on the memory modules. Motherboard make and model. CPU make and model. Power supply make and model. Video card make and model. Anything else you can think of. Have you tried testing the memory with http://www.memtest.org ? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2005 What is the complete part# of both of your modules, according to that report they are not the same modules, and that may be the cause of the problems. Gorganzola
The problem is that it is a lot of information to have to sift through to get to the answer. I have no idea, off the top of my head was MSI board is MS-6504, but now that I spent 5 min digging for the information, I know, http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=661FM-L&class=mb And more specifically, like Ram Guy asked, we need the exact information off the sticks on the modules as this gives the exact part number of each of them and then RG can check the exact chips and design of each one and tell if they are the same and should work, or aren't and thus won't work in dual channel configuration. Please read my CPUZ.txt attached file, i've tried to use memtest but not quite sure how it's gnna work exactly.
hoobastank68
Hi, One of the 512 Stick Ram was there when i purchased the PC off ebay and when i was running the 512 stick alone it ran fine, but now i have 2 sticks running it was crashing games etc... Somehow after pushing in the rams , cleaning the dust out and checking the cables and pushing them into a bit tighter im not getting the errors anymore or at least for now. Is there a problem with running two different brand rams? I know the Corsair is a bit faster than the other stick which isnt made by any major manufactuers...Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 4, 2005 Well yes it can make a difference. especially if you are running in dual channel. But if the system is stable I would not worry about it!
